    well if you're lookin for power I'd open them up as much as possible until it starts to have a miss then close it down a little . it will allow the flame front to spread faster by allowing a larger spark to light more of the mixture quicker

    if your computer is letting it run fine when after it's been unhooked for a while, then it turns to crap when the computer starts adjusting, I would check out the 02 sensors

    Edelbrock performer VS RPM II

    yes it will work with no problem, just port match it. I know because my car has that done right now, I snapped a bolt from the upper to lower and then snapped and easy out in the lower so I bought a regular performer lower and port matched it to the RPM II, works fine

    why not get some headers, an H pipe, a crossmember outta an 86 and up and then you can throw that cat back on there and have a real dual exhaust setup

    x-cam clearance

    the x cam is 542 lift if I remember correctly, which should fit with the 1.90/ 1.60 valves on the 165cc afr heads, so you should be alright

    another factor that would cause your problems is valve adjustment, gotta have those rockers adjusted right, if they're too tight you're gonna have a vacuum problem for sure

    Rod bolt upgrade?

    I would use a set of ARP 2000 fasteners, I work for manley in the connecting rod department, that's what we use on rods that are rated for 800+ horsepower

    289 crank

    if you're just trying to make those pistons fit why not use the 302 crank, and get some shorter rods to make up for the extra compression height

    it slows the burn making it colder, the lower the octane the quicker and nastier it lights up, but the easier it is to ping on the pump crap

    my opinion is you're just being paranoid, h2o is a byproduct of proper combustion, and theres no way for coolant to just dump out unburnt, you would definately smell it burning, there's no mistaking the white cloud coming out of the exhaust

    p0171 is system lean and 0172 is system too rich, maybe a set of 02 sensors that are shot and sending the computer bad signals

    I definately wouldn't have put hooker at the bottom of the barrel with flowtech, though both are owned by same company quality is a hell of alot better on the hooker headers

    I think the b cam would work alright with the P heads without the 1.7s, not the best cam for the job, but it would make decent power for the street

    don't any of these companies sell pistons with offset wrist pins? I would think that would help with longevity and oil consumption

    TFS twisted wedge V AFR 165 heads

    how about the new twisted wedges that are cnc ported to 185cc? I hear those piss all over the afr 185cc heads, but they do cost a little more, I was considering them for my setup
