What is this in the passenger dash pod?

I think the 'red thing' is a battery isolator: http://www.nfauto.co.uk/battery_switch.htm with the red key bit left in place...?

    Phantom Grip Limited Slip Diff

Yeah, but I think they can make it fit - there's an MGB with a stonking twin turbo V8 over here that uses it in a bastardised axle.

Structural foam to stiffen our cars

I think they use this kinda stuff in the Lotus Elise, which is glued together anyway. Might be useful in aluminium or carbon fibre bodies, but i can't see it helping in 40 year old sheet metal (unless some of it has rusted away...) :D

    Phantom Grip Limited Slip Diff

Yeah, I know what you mean about the graphs - it does also appear to be a bit Sport Compact / Ricer, but I wondered if anyone had used it in a 'proper' application. I'm going to price one up and see if it's worth the risk...

    one piece front windows?

Yeah, plexiglass is a bad idea - you need to be able to smash side windows so you can get out if the doors are jammed (the reason they don't laminate door glass), though I do wonder how the President's bullet proof limo passes inspection... Plexiglass will also scuff and scratch every time it...

    Phantom Grip Limited Slip Diff

No way man, it's a thing that modifies your stock diff. Maybe I should have posted this link: http://www.phantomgrip.com/how_it_works.htm It's for proper rear wheel drive cars, not girly front wheel drive. Anyone use it?

You may all openly mock me starting now. Or "how I blew close to 2 grand for nothing

We had it good over here a few months ago, when we got close to 2 USD to 1 GBP, but man the duty and the VAT is a killer on top of the shipping charges.

    Phantom Grip Limited Slip Diff

Has anyone any experience of this: http://www.phantomgrip.com/ It's a gadget you fit into your open diff to make it a locker (and no, it's not a bolt jammed into the ring gear... :D). Is it any good?

    Electric fan question

I hate those suckers cause they always leak. I have a fan switch from a BMW 318i in a neat aluminium housing spliced into my top hose - neat and leak free.

    %$#@*&^%%$#$# OIL COMPAINIES

The Smarts aren't selling too well in europe after their initial interest - they were talking of pulling the plug on them. We will be paying around 1 GBP a litre for diesel by Christmas (around seven and a half bucks an Imperial gallon), with unleaded not far behind. Around 80% of that is...

    05 GT Wheels on a 66?

Poo. from Dodgestang's chart that means I'll need something like a three inch spacer to make them fit. I don't like the idea of that.

    Electric fan question

Have you got one of those adjustable controllers like a Kenlowe? If so, the thermocouple should be placed in the top hose, wrap some PTFE tape around the tube as it passes under the hose clip to help prevent leaks.

Ran COBRASK8 at Watkins Glen - pics!

For the mother of all tracks, you gotta ship your cars over to Germany and take a blast on the Nurburgring. My 66 will be thrashed to within in an inch of it's drum brakes around there when I finally get it finished...

    Speedo Cable Routing

Yeah, I was looking for a 'tunnel' after that post, but all I can find is a hole just big enough for the nut to fit through... WTF do I need a speedo for anyway, it's only ever going to be driven like I stole it...?

    HELP! (upper control arm swap)

Just use a ball joint separator - it's like the pickle fork, but it has a lever and bolt...The pickle fork goes in the usual place between the parts to be separated, and, with the ball joint nut backed off, the lever part of the separator presses onto the ball joint nut (protecting the thread)...
