    Correct jets for a 4180?

    If the jets are drilled, then the number means nothing. Is it rich at idle, or cruising? Jets dont have alot to do with the idle mix. Try www.foureyedpride.com for the jetting, I cant remember off hand what mine were. 61 sounds about right though.

    The car lost .2 and 2MPH with the RPM so I went back to the performer. You have to realize that the ET and MPH were in the summer in Az, 100* air temps and the stock cam. If the 289 is stock, an RPM is overkill

    Having run both the RPM and performer on my 84 with the afr heads, I sold the RPM cheap... I did port match the performer. Stock cam with 1.7's.

    Had the same prob when the block to firewall ground had a bad connection, might double check that.

    Have the spark plugs out? Pull the crank pulley, put the bolts back in and stick a breaker bar or pipe between the bolts. You can also buy a crank socket that goes over the snout of the crank and keyway if the balancer os off.

    I meant lifter type.. hyd soller, solid etc.. with the pedestal heads you're limited to hyd and hyd roller cams. You cant make lash adjustments with them, other than shims
