Deep dish rim question 2001 Bullitt

As long as they were matching styles of wheels you’ll be fine with stock 245’s up front. Make sure you get sticky quality tires. Don’t get oversized tires on stock rims. Looks silly and you may go out of manufacturer spec (safety and performance losses). If you want bigger tires on the...

    Gear Ratios

4.10’s are a good gear for naturally aspirated GT’s looking to maximize the use of their first 4 gears in the quarter mile (trap speed <111mph assuming stock tire+wheel height). If you are naturally aspirated, I’d hold what you got. To get more acceleration you need to drop weight, improve the...

Ways for more HP on a budget

+1 Full boltons (tune, full intake, and full exhaust) will only get you to 260rwhp. The cost adds up. Save your cash and do suspension or forced induction.

    Help!! WHAT MODS FIRST?

V3 kits come in two finish choices (polished or satin) and two main configurations (tuner vs complete). I went with polished because I like that finish and tuner so that I could customize the tune and fuel options. Shop around for which combo fits your preference and budget. AM generally has...

    Help!! WHAT MODS FIRST?

Could be gears, a tune, or internal work (changed out pistons for higher compression). 1-2 cars isn’t much - weight and other small factors could add up to account for that. I’d budget about $6k. Assuming all your basic maintenance is up to date - 5k is enough to start buying the components...

    Help!! WHAT MODS FIRST?

Flow is important but not the only determinant. Engines are air pumps - at a basic level the more air and fuel - the more power. Superchargers predominately add air by adding pressure. My engine is seeing 9 psi above atmospheric pressure with the same PI heads I had when I was NA. Adding the...

    Help!! WHAT MODS FIRST?

Got the polished vortech V3 tuner kit brand new from summit. My daily makes 438rwhp on stock pistons and rods - high RPMs and detonation kill boosted motors - 400rwhp is a good guide for what these motors can take in stock form. Get a good dyno tune and keep the RPMs in the stock range and you...

    Help!! WHAT MODS FIRST?

I’ve daily driven my vortech 2V for years. No reason to be scared of boost. Low boost, the solid 4.6L, and how relatively lightweight our cars are makes for a good mix. I have a V3 tuner kit and a SCT tuner. Things to think about with a vortech: 1) intercooling (worth it to find a quality...

    02 GT

Buy a pair of cats (one per side) and get an exhaust shop to weld them in. As long as the car is well warmed up you should pass emissions.

    4.6 2v cam help

I’ve have nothing but good things to say about MHS cams. I went with their stage 1’s for the best street drivability and broad torque curve. Looks like you are going for a more extreme set up so I’d reach out to them and see if they have what fits your needs...

    New Edge Build Advice

The supercharger doesn’t really change emissions or any of the emissions equipment for everyday driving. The complete kits even meet california’s standards- they come with CARB approval for emissions, example...

    New Edge Build Advice

I’ve loved my V3 supercharger. I’d agree with gaining boost early on in the upgrade process. If you are willing to do all the work the below, it is do-able for on average about 4k. I would budget 6k to be safe. Things to think about: 1) intercooling (worth it to find a quality treadstone or...

Is my 2000 Mustang Gt broken

It takes a minimum 9” rims to fill in the rear. There is tons of space out back that people want to fill - that is why 10.5” rims and 315’s are such a popular size out back. Fills everything in nicely. Check all the arms and frame along the rear- if there is no repairs it is probably just the...

Catch Cans Need Information 4.6 Gt 2V

You have vacuum so that “clean air side” tube brings clean air in at idle to the driver side (less vacuum here) while the PCV on the passenger side pulls the air out under vacuum (more vacuum here makes this mostly a one way system). Drive around for a gas tank or two - check your oil catch can...

Looks great! Looks exactly like the instructions that came with my moroso catch can: https://lib.americanmuscle.com/files/14447.pdf Should have a clean intake.

Catch Cans Need Information 4.6 Gt 2V

Should be one port for the IAC, one for the PCV. If there are ports beyond that - some aftermarket intakes have a tap for methanol and/or a dry nitrous kit. If nothing clearly goes in that port I’d cap it.

Catch Cans Need Information 4.6 Gt 2V

Vacuum way is better to remove that blow by - maximizes longevity of the motor, and actively flushes out blow by. There is no performance detriment - At WOT the PCV system is barely moving any air. The PCV system moves the most air at idle / max vacuum to clean up that crankcase. If I were...

Catch Cans Need Information 4.6 Gt 2V

Excuse my dirty engine bay. Moroso’s kit is great. Love the position on the front of the engine and easy emptying valve on the bottom of the can. Have a blow thru setup so my crankcase is no longer connected to the air intake. Crankcases dislike boost. :D Both valve covers have tubing that...
