new to stangnet i need help with 90-93 ssp cluster swapping into 88 lx

So you put the 90-93 speedometer only in the 87-89 cluster? That is what I did on mine, cutting and filing the parts to make it fit. It works out pretty well, but the turn signal arrows are different I noticed after I installed it!

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

They are 17x9 so keep the Fox length axles and drums. You really should use the 94-95 spindles then if you can find them. But you can use the newer spindles and you can change to rear disc if you feel like it later on.

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

You should be able to find the adapter at a bigger parts place. It just needs to be a 1/4" female to 3/8" male inverted flare adapter, see the specs on the website I posted. You can take your brake lines to the parts store and get the one that fits. This pic has the 94-98 axles with 17x8...

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

Good. You should be OK then for the rears then as they are the Ranger type axles. They fronts will stick out, and it will be a somewhat noticeable difference from the rears. The 94-95 spindles do push out the fronts about 5mm, so add that to the 96-04 spindles and that is about 13mm total...

1993 GT a/c clutch is broken - how hard is it to fix?

I'll be doing the same thing this week since my clutch just went out. New they are about $100-140. To install then you need some deep snap ring plyers and just regular sockets and such. You might need a puller if the clutch is really on tight to the compressor. The parts of the clutch are held...

    5 lug conversion Step-by-Step

One thing I must ask, bigvino, are the rear brakes drum or disc and are you getting the rear axles with this kit? If so, what car were they on? Hopefully it was a Fox. The issue is, a Fox rear end will work with the Ranger axles and drum brakes or using SN95 disc brakes and a modified...

    Removing valve covers

I would pay the extra money and get the metal & rubber reusable gaskets! No sealant to worry about getting all over the place and no worries about later leaks. I changed mine like 3 times before I got the reusable ones due to leaks, and I haven't touched them since, probably over 100K miles...

What year seats fit in a notchback?!?!?

The 94-04 coupe seats can be made to fit, but they are a bit narrower than the Fox seats and they have a gap on the sides. Plus you have to do some work to do mount the seat bottom. I have a link to a thread with some pics on my other PC I'll post later.

    Where can I get these:

Mike! What happened! Have a few too many last night?!? :D The 87-93 V8 cars have the narrower mounting point on the spindle and require the spacers for the universal struts. My first set of replacement struts were Monroes and they had the spacers with them so they would fit the 4cyl or pre...

Photo of a 1994 Hub. What is this??

I believe just about all the new hubs are sold with the ABS rings on them. Saves the parts stores from having to stock 2 different hubs for the same car.

Trying to find the start years for different Mustang Magazines

250 mags! PPPFFFTTTTT!!! I have about that many of MM&FF by itself, and probably the same of 5.0 and Superfords! :D I quit subscribing to MM&FF the last couple of years because everything is either racing or all new car stuff. I have the first years of MM&FF, and even have their predecessor...

Late Model restoration 5 Lug conversion

Mike is right, (as usual!!!) you really should use the SN95 spindles/rotors/calipers if you want to run the 17" Mustang wheels and not have any issues.

Trying to figure out a way to get a title on a lost title vehicle!!!!!

Just about every state is different, so you will have to talk to your DMV and see what their procedure is. Did the current "owner" get a bill of sale or any documentation? If so, then stykthyn is probably right, he will need to transfer it to his name and then he could sell it to you. Some...

just picked up my cobra parts... a few q's

If you are getting the NRC brackets you don't need the stock mounting plate the dust shield bolts to. That is the part the NRC brackets replace. Now a friend has his own design brackets and they bolt on the inside of the axle flange, mounting the calipers on Ranger axles properly. Here is a...

Late Model restoration 5 Lug conversion

It will work as long as you don't want to use the stock 96+ 17" Mustang wheels. The dust caps will not fit on most of them since the spindle is still too long and the wheel is concave. It is basically the SVO or Mark VII front rotors and Ranger axles, but new.

    brake booster

I haven't measured it or compared it to the studs on a Fox one, I was mainly concerned with the pedal arm matching the Fox one. It is quite possible it is the same as the 94-95 booster. As far as posting pics, I use photobucket. Open an account, upload the pics, then you can hover your...

    brake booster

Here is a pic of my 2002 V6 booster I got a couple of years ago. As far as I can tell, the arm looks just like the one on my Fox booster.

    Rear Disc brake Q's

I did my brakes years ago without the mod, and got it to work fairly well, but they eventually got to the point they would not hold, even after adjusting them. I pulled the handle ALL the way up still no go. A friend modded an extra 2003 handle he had for me and I installed it with new cables...
