    Front rims scrubbing

Not sure what he/she is talking about. Don't see how the tire could rub the strut tower. Maybe he/she meant the strut itself ?? shrugs. Either way, 245/45/17 is an awful wide tire for the front. Now, me, i'm on stock 16" ponies with 225/55/16 on the front. I have the Eibach Pro kit lowering...

    ?'s About Speed Sensor

Speedo cable is stretched out. Normal wear and tear over lengthy period of time for a Fox stang. It's not a lubrication problem. Just the cable jacket is compressed more when it's colder and keeps the cable more steady. I wouldn't try putting lube in it. It takes a special kind of lubricant and...

    Convertible top replacement?

No, you don't have to replace the back glass piece. But, if you dont, and it's a white top then then colors WILL be off. I've never used the plastic rear window, but I wouldn't. I see you live in Georgia. Unless you have a garage, that southern sun will fade out that plastic window faster than...

    Odd clutch pedal feel

This is normal. Most likely some wear on the clutch throwout bearing shaft where the bearing travels upon. Since it has been sitting, probably either some light rust that formed over the shaft or the throwout bearing grease has settles, making the bearing more stiffer. You will notice this with...

    Need alot of help

What state do you live in? GT40P heads require the use of special headers. Ford Racing makes a nice set of GT40P Stainless steel shorty headers at Latemodel Resto for $239. You could go long tube headers but only use those if you have some serious plans for that engine with high HP. It's all...

    Is my temp gauge correct?

Mine takes about a couple minutes before it shows where your gauge is showing now. How long was the engine running for when you took this pic? If you are just idling for a long time, I'd give it about 5 - 12 minutes before it's at full operating temp. If you start driving within the first...

    Two LUCKY guys...

Another Fox Stang down the tubes. That sux! Well hey, at least the 2 guys are ok ... AND the front end looks good still. Can't tell about the back, pic is not large enough and cant see the rest of it. Telephone poles are damn solid enough to split ANYTHING at a high rate of speed. The wood...

    No new 2011 V6's yet?

Hmm, wonders if Ford finally ditched the noisy arse throwout bearing that was prominent in ALL 05-09 V6's. I used to test drive new Fords for Pre-delivery. The V6's ALWAYS had really noisy T-O bearing versus the GT's. GT's were quiet, while I could hear all that noise come through the V6 shifter...

    Selling the stang

Definitely go find a trans already rebuilt. $700 for a rebuilt one sounds about right. That's what I see them sold for. Forget letting a shop charge you to rebuild yours. They are charging you for all the labor... and god knows what else. As far as selling it, unless it needs some serious body...

    Rear seat floor board plugs

Yeah, go to the scrap/junk yard and get them. Some scrap yards might even let you have them for free. By the way, you can use the floor pan plugs out of the 87-93's and also the 94-04's. The floor pan is identical on all of these. Trust me... Ford dealer also sells them. A few bucks a piece for...

Yellow powder coming out of seat. Making a mess

Anyone else have this? It looks like seat foam material in powdery form. It's coming out the side corners on the back and on the lower front. Every time I sit down it POOFs out ..spilling a little here and there.Making a mess on the floor. Even the passenger seat is doing it and it isn't even...

    96 V6 3.8 Fuel pressure problems

Idle fuel pressure should be around 38 - 40 PSI. Your pressure is way too low. First, I'd take a look at that pressure regulator, it could be stuck or clogged. There also may be some contaminants in your gas. That's just a thought tho. Do you have a Check Engine light on?

T5 trans shifter WONT move into 2nd gear ( V6 but related)

I know the synchros were shot in 2nd gear already. Been that way for a couple months. I could sit there idling at a stand still, push the clutch in and if I tapped 2nd gear, it would grind no matter what. So I avoided using that gear as much as I had to. Always 1st to 3rd but 2nd on coasting...

T5 trans shifter WONT move into 2nd gear ( V6 but related)

This SUCKS! Yes, I know this is 5.0 forums but most of the knowledgeable tranny people lurk in here ... soooo.. Since this a T5 , this is relevant. As some of you may or may not know, my tranny on my 96 3.8 has been taking a crap.. very slowly. Relentlessly popping out of 1st gear...

My 88 GT budget build...Project Garbage Pile

Friend of mine had shaved doors on one of his Stangs. They were solenoid operated. good thing his had a T-top with loose glass. Battery dead = CANT get in your damn car. So he got in redneck style.. hah nice work on this build so far. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

    1995 Jerking Issues

hmm.. I'm thinking man. I've diagnosed so many vibrations it's damn ridiculous! It is very difficult to tell without hearing.. feeling it firsthand. It kind of sounds like a U-joint...You would be surprised. Depending on how you drive and where you live (type of roads etc), they can wear out...

    Will I still pass? hmm....

Ok, here is what I think. Sorry I did not get around to replying sooner. Disconnecting the battery to erase codes ... sure it will remove all codes. And it takes the computer a few passes sometimes to register a code so that may give you some time. But, here is another thing. Where you reset...
