painter wants it, but not 100% sure yet. I'll let you know. Was thinking about HiTechs, said with the VT Stage 1's for the sake of saving money.

eventually she'll have a new hood. I'm leaning towards a 2000 R one though. I blew the motor on my N/A tune, racing a S197. I was a bit low on oil (1/2 quart) and burned a bearing :(

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads Cams and Intake NA Dyno Results

from the thread on ModularFords, it sounds like they used the Stage 1 cam they just came out that is intended for PI heads. Plus from that thread, it said they used just the plenum and stock PI intake, not their full intake setup

    welp, it finally happened

200 mile check it. Had some issues pop up so she was down for a week: - passenger side, rear freeze plug on the block popped off. Was complete hell to track down since only the bottom lip was actually leaking. That edge is concealed by the starter. - front cover seal was lekaing oil, very...

    welp, it finally happened

I've put alittle over 80 miles on her since yesterday. City miles mostly, but I did a quick highway sprint up to 5k RPM's with half thorttle. She's running like a dream. I'm keeping my Predator plugged in while I drive to keep an eye on things. Of course, I'll be switching to SCT in a few weeks...

    welp, it finally happened

Update: Ok, so here is where I stand: I got everything hooked up, went to start it and all I got was an ABS light and no fuel pump cycling. I printed up some Alldata wiring diagrams and saw that I was missing a wire on the battery junction box. Hooked that up, blam, normal key-on functions...

    welp, it finally happened

New problem: when started the process to degree the cams, while turning the crank to the proper degree, we would observe PTV contact. No matter the method we used, PTV contact would happen. So the Stage 1's will be making a re-appearance tomorrow in hopes that I can still be cammed with no problems.
  17. Poisoned Pony

    welp, it finally happened

some pic updates. Took the head to a machine shop to have the cap machined to match. Got some pics before hand though. Motor mounts, passenger side cam and header are on. Tomorrow I pick up the cam and head and it's back to rocking and rolling. Started putting the intake stuff together so...

    welp, it finally happened

that's definitely within spec. I had one journal on the driver's side, 2nd one back that was out of spec
  19. Poisoned Pony

    welp, it finally happened

So, we hit a snag. One of the main journals on the VT Stage 2 camshaft is out of spec. It's actually .030" too large for the bore on the cylinder head. We didn't discover this until we started tightening the cam retaining cap down and it cracked in half. So tomorrow I have to try out this...
