    Best Mods for staying N/A

I've always wanted to stay NA as well, however, once you start swapping heads and cams, you most likely will not pass an emissions test. At least I haven't heard of anyone with those mods passing emissions. You can pass with a supercharger though.

    Quiet Catback Take 2.....

The Borla Pro-XS mufflers I got are known for making power while not being loud. If you want the full catback, many have said the Steeda catback uses the Borla Pro-XS mufflers. They sound great with my H.

    Royal Purple FTW

A mustang guy I talked to that has built some motors said to stay away from synthetics and to use the blend Ford has. I forget what part he said was breaking, but rebuilt a few motors that had the same problem and he linked it to synthetic oil (not sure how). Anyone else hear this? I'm...

A/C makes my car run REALLY slow.

My tuner did something that has made it rob less horsepower. It kicks on more frequently, just not as power robbing when it does.

Gear change and mileage goes UP

Check out his sig, he had his gears mikronited, reducing friction and increasing fuel mileage, which is why I said its a rare performance mod that pays for itself. Finally a gear change that will add horsepower to the wheels instead of take it away(before you call bs, there are several dyno...

Gear change and mileage goes UP

He is also telling us all that it is a rare performance mod that pays for itself. Sure, it may take a year or year and a half for it to completely pay off. I was wavering lately about it, but I think I'm game again. Hey goshia, where did you get yours and what did you pay? I think I saw JDM...

    Granatelli

Also, I only have 13k on the odometer, so just the connectors are fine for me. I'm not ready to shell out 400+ on a whole new COP kit.

    Granatelli

I've got the Granatelli COP connector kit on order from JC Whitney. $99 and free shipping. Proof is rolling in with dyno numbers and resistance readings of the connectors. Blown 2v's in the 400hp range are seeing 10-20 rwhp increases with the full kit. The connectors seemed to be the...

    Anyone useing MSD coil packs?

Granatelli Motorsports apparently is making replacement ones that have dyno proven added horsepower over stock. Do a web search on Granatelli coil pack. One of the other sites just had a group buy.

any ever buy from o e wheel distributors?

They look good. I was thinking of black bullitts, but these look like a nice alternative. My GT is oxford white. They look like 98 Cobra wheels that have been improved on. His store says Cobra R.

    selling timeshare/vacation club

I'm in a vacation club where we have x number of weeks paid for, and you can choose from several resorts that they own, but we aren't using it. Have any of you sold your timeshare/vacation club? I've seen a couple of websites that you can list them on, not sure which one to choose, etc. Would...

Who uses Acetone in their gas?

It worked in my car...only used 2 oz. per 10 gallon though. I'm sure they didn't spend much time altering the mixture percentage, because too much can give you worse mileage. There was a thread over in 5.0 about this....

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

Hmm, didn't hear about this before, but it looks like there is an additive MTBE that was contaminating wells in Maryland (probably other states too) and EPA is banning it down the road. Looks like oil companies are scared of lawsuits to come, so are deciding to switch now to ethanol as a...

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

Hey sunil, Less is sometimes more. Try only 2 oz. or 1.5 oz per 10 gallons if 2.5 was not doing it. My guess is if you didn't see a change with 2.5 oz., it was either a change in driving or probably too much acetone.

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

Also, I don't plan on trying it in my Mustang since it's been tuned. Not sure how it would behave at WOT. I'd like to know what it does to the Air/Fuel ratio. It would be nice if someone had wideband or something to track the air/fuel ratio differences.

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

Well, I'd like to see what strength of acetone mythbusters was using. 1 oz. too much and you can get worse gas mileage than before acetone. And different vehicles apparently have slightly different needs. I'm showing a 2 mpg improvement so far on the first tankful. I'm driving an 05 Town and...

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

Also, while ethanol theoretically reduces demand on oil, it also reduces our gas mileage, so how much is it really benefitting?

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

One of the articles linked talks about ethanol. I think they said acetone has less of an effect if there is ethanol present.

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

I added it tonight to the minivan, 2 oz per 10 gallons. My digital mileage gauge read 28.8 mpg after a short 12 mile drive. About 2-4 more mpg than usual, however, I'll report back when the whole tank is emptied.

    Acetone (A mustang's best friend)

I'm going to try in the minivan, its got a mile per gallon readout at all times.
