    Coil bad?

The problem I'm having is that after the car warms up, ( 10-15 mins driving) and heat builds up under hood, I get a stumble like a miss. As rpms go up it feels like it smooths out somewhat. I do generate a bit of heat under hood ( mods w/ S/C ). Is there a way to test the coil and PIP to see if...

    Starting issue-'90 LX

Last weekend I started car for first time this year and took a 30 mile roundy w/ a 1hr stop halfway. When returning and trying to start, car just cranked (about 15 sec) until I depressed gas pedal. It started, but slowly then ran like usual the way home. I did use 1/2 tank gas for this trip. My...

    Overheating question

That extra pressure in the system may be compression from a cylinder due to HG being blown. DO A COMP CHECK.

    Overheating question

It sounds like a blown head gasket. The reason you may not have water in the oil is that the gasket is blown facing the cylinder so the coolant is getting burned up with combustion. A compression check may be in order. If your pulling heads, I would have them redone by a machine shop if they...

    good cam?

It'll work on a stock motor ok. It' a little on the small side, will have a little "lope". It' s almost a cross between an FRPP "E" and "F" cam. I would try to get it a little cheaper though. Check your PTV clearances when installing any cam.

    Cowl hoods

Harwood makes an awesome cowl hood for Mustangs. My paint guy said it took the least amount of prep he's ever seen with a fiberglas hood. The hood is now 15 years old. http://www.eharwood.com/catalog/catalog.php?make=MUSTANG&submit=Search&group=Performance+Fiberglass&category=HOODS

    advice for suspension setup

I have Kenny Brown subs, I feel they are the best. I would get the rear springs that match the fronts. A nice set of struts and shocks to complement them will do wonders. I have Koni "reds", while they are pricey, they are lifetime warranted. Tightening up the chassis on a vert is paramount...

Install of 83-95 MUSTANG SPEEDOMETER GEAR KIT FOR T5 WITH 4.10 REAR GEARS?

If the car you are talking about is the '88, all you'll need is a 23 tooth (white) driven gear from a Jeep for the 4.10's. The 88 had a 7 tooth drive gear which makes this work easily. This being said and understood that said T-5 is an 88 model year. If it's the '94, you need to remove the...

    Question about changing brake shoes...

If they were installed correctly, NO grinding or hammering is necessary. Recheck your work with the side that fits. I was taught years ago to do brakes one side at a time. If you forget where a spring goes you just look at the other side for reference.

    Cooling issue with my FOX

I've heard that the Edelbrock water pump flows the water too quickly thru the system whereby causing the radiator to not extract the heat thoroughly. Just something to maybe look at.

    5.0 HO Engine Nameplate Removal

Remember it's a steel screw going into an aluminum manifold. After all these years, the two metals have worked against each other. Try some rust/frozen screw remover spray for a few days then give it a shot. I always use anti-sieze when threading into aluminum.

anyone know a thing or two about chevy motors?

You can find out what engine (block) is in it quite easily. There is a pad in front of the engine on the pass side where the head sits on the block. Just clean it off and you'll see numbers and letters. An example would be 0217PHL. This would decipher as being built on Feb 17 and would be a...
