The V6 Exhaust sound clip thread.

Here's my exhaust evolution... I'm guessing on all the prices.... it's been awhile. These clips are all with my NA setup... before the s/c. single GT take-off axle-back ($30 parts, $25 install) http://transcendingtouch.com/mustang/05V6_gtmuffler1.mp3 single GT take-off axle-back and JBA...

Here's an interesting read on heat absorbtion of metal vs plastic intakes on AEM's website. Basically, there's so much air going through an intake tube that it never really has time to heat up. http://trucks.aempower.com/press_events_detail.asp?aid=15

The jba's are great, as is the SCT. The K&N intake doesn't require a tune. Doug at Bamachips thinks an intake that doesn't require a tune isn't really going to make more power with a tune. I trust this guys opinion... he's been tuning 4.0L's for years. If you're getting an X-cal, might as well...

    V6 Owners sound off

Hey there... I'm Hamid. 32 and married about 2 1/2 years. No kids... just a pearled cockatiel, a bearded dragon, two Texas ornate box turtles and some fishies. I'm in Portland, Oregon. I'm a licensed massage therapist, musician and songwriter (guitar, sitar and hand percussion), recording...

    New Owner Questions

a glass roof over a supercharger?!! Um... for your Jacque Cousteau undersea adventures? :p For that kind of cash, I'd definetly go with a supercharger.

Another Upgrade coming / T-Lok Differential

yeah... the t-lok should be able to handle anything up to a major power-adder... like a super or turbo charger. But, if you're getting up to this point it might be better just to go with with a bigger rear.

Another Upgrade coming / T-Lok Differential

Quite a few have done this install and been really happy with it. Along with gears, it will be my next mod. It seems to be holding up to a lot of torque for those that have added nitrous. Haven't seen it for less than at v6mustangstuff.com

    New Owner Questions

GT take-off sways are just dandy. A few have done this and are very happy with improved cornering. CAI...C&L intake with a Bamachips X-cal II tune! Makes the car drive like it should from the factory! K&N, MMR, Tunable Induction and Airaid are some other decent options. Technically, the...

    Want forced induction?

Exception.... Explorer Express is still working on the X-charger for the Mustang... it'll probably be out early next year or so.

    JBA exhaust

There was quite a bit of difference with my jba headers. A noticeable power increase, harder, faster revs and a wonderful new, snarling sound that quite surprised me when I first fired 'er up. Here's a clip just after install.... doesn't do it justice... they seemed to have smoothed out over...

    V6 power

Dented car, no t-lok, idiotic commentary and it looks like they had the stock rims and tires on the rear wheels. When they walked around to the other side they had some nicer rims on the front. Lovely skid mark behind that passenger side tire though. My fav line: "they still have tread!"

    where should i start modding?

Rygen...whew... just took her out for an evening spin down some well-known back roads... she gets up to 80 a lil faster now! It's a marked improvement over the 87 octane tune. I was trying out both the 91 performance and 91 torque tunes... at the moment, I'm leaning towards to the torque tune...
