EFI Solutions or Custom Chip?

If you notice, no one really got involved except to correct misinformation. You said Which is absolutely wrong. Maybe that's true with an EFI chip (do they have a chip?) but that's not the case with a SCT or Diablo chip. There is no difference in what is changed between an SCT chip and SCT...

    EFI Solutions or Custom Chip?

LOL, I know who built it. I was down in Bradenton. It was a rhetorical question;) Ken

    EFI Solutions or Custom Chip?

A modular car won Real Street at Bradenton this year. Pretty impressive. Guess who's car it was.

SCT TUNE ???? What The Heck Happened

Still won't matter much. When you are dealing with a MAF system, the computer can handle changes such as that without a tune. The computer will read more air and give it more fuel. No need for a tune. What you do with the tune is command a leaner A/F and more timing and that is where the...

SCT TUNE ???? What The Heck Happened

What are your mods? You can't expect to pick up too much power with a tune unless you NEEDED a tune. On a stock car or bolt on car, you shouldn't expect much of a power increase. Every car reacts differently. I'd say anywhere from 5-15 (not likely) rwhp could be expected from a NA tune. It's...

    DYNO TUNING ??????s

Ed Clark is definitely the best tuner in your area (or anywhere remotely close for that matter) and really is your best option. If you can find a great tuner close by that can continue to make changes as your car does, you can't beat that.

    Tuning and plenum mod. questions?

Doesn't exist on the manual cars.

    Plenum results on the way!

There were no changes to the A/F as there shouldn't be. With either a stock tune or a tune done correctly, the EEC commands a A/F ratio and will add the correct amount of fuel accordingly. Things like a C&L MAF trick the EEC and will cause havoc with the A/F ratio. Ken

    Diablo and SuperChip??

You don't need a chip right now. If you do need one down the road go with an SCT tune.

    Tuning and plenum mod. questions?

Yes and no. Depends on the tuner. If the car was tuned correctly you won't need a retune. While at WOT the MAF will detect more air so the EEC will add more fuel to maintain the correct A/F ratio. Like I said, it depends on the tune. If you have an SCT or Fordchip tune, then you will be fine.

    Plenum results on the way!

You guys are really confusing the topic. Don't be overly concerned with peak numbers, pay attention to the area under the curve. It's quite possible that the Accufab would pick up peak power with a 75, but with a 70mm it has better power throughout the power band which is more important...

    Plenum results on the way!

That would not be a fair comparison. Just because C&L recommends a 75mm TB and the Accufab recommends a 70mm TB do you really think the C&L would benefit from the 75 while the Accufab wouldn't?! No matter how you conduct a test like this there will always be doubters. Fact is, this is the most...

    We have camshafts!

Never really was a problem. It was an insignificant amount. The people that had problems had other issues. Pete, Glad I could help out! You car is gonna kick ass! Congrats on the MM&FF feature, the car looks awesome. :nice:

Looking for impressive N/A power in a '96-'98

I shift at 6500 only because I'm on the stock shortblock and the rods would not hold up if I spun it much higher. The car is still making 300rwhp+ at 6500. If the shortblock was built I'd be shifting alot higher. I'm selling my heads and cams and Fox Lake is building a new longblock for me...

Looking for impressive N/A power in a '96-'98

As far as I know I'm making the most power NA on the stock shortblock. It just takes the right heads/cams combo. Ken

If you really want full control over your tune then the SCT package is the way to go. Full support, full documentation. There's nothing out there that can compare. It even comes with a base tune to start with that is the result of thousands of dyno pulls. Ever hear of Fordchip or JMS? The brains...

I'm sure their tune is fine, but if it doesn't have the name "CobraKiller" attached to it, it's just not good enough!

    Swap a 5.0 into a 99+GT?

You're sorely mistaken if you think there's no power to be had out of the 2V. With a STOCK shortblock I made 317rwhp/314 rwtq N/A. Since then I have added pullies and an aluminum driveshaft. Based on the old dyno and my trap speeds, I estimate my power to be 330rwhp on a STOCK shortblock N/A.
