    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Just to bump, and reiterate: Does removing the smog pump and plugging the vacuum lines create any trouble codes? I did a search and found another post about a guy who had a bad TAB and TAD solenoid, and he also had the codes 41 and 91, and replacing the TAB and TAD solenoid supposedly...

    Sounds like a bad starter.

Interceptor motor or not, Differences?? $$

He's right, the block is the same. Maybe the guy just dropped the whole engine with accessories attached in there. If he did, check your alternator. If it has an external fan, it's not a police engine.

So you have to cut through the floor? Is this noticable from the inside? Where in the interior will the hole be?

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Okay, I checked the engine codes with KOEO and with engine running. I got 41, 81, and 91. According to Haynes, the 41 and 81 are both oxygen sensor problems. I can verify this with the inside of my tailpipes being black and when I scanned the code with the real computer I got some codes about...

best intake manifold for mostly stock 5.0?

Just another quick question: what gaskets do you use for the ported lower and where do you get them?

Great, that's another thing I wouldn't have tried without your advice. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks yet again!

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Okay, let me start all over. I have a working check engine light in my dash. (I know this because it comes on almost every time I drive it :)) So all I need to do is attach that jumper wire and I can get the codes by counting the number of times the check engine light flashes?

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

So I just hook it up exactly light that in the picture? It would work with a digital voltmeter, right? I don't understand what you mean by needing a test light unless I have a check engine light. Also, I don't understand why it says I don't need a voltmeter if my car has a check engine...

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Yeah, that was easy. Honestly I never would have went out and bought a vacuum gauge if you hadn't recommended it. Thanks again. No, the gauge doesn't seem to sweep more than 1 in. hg. I do have the haynes manual but being so inexperienced at electrical work, it doesn't seem to make sense...

best intake manifold for mostly stock 5.0?

tmoss, how long does it usually take you to finish porting once you get the lower manifold? How well can you say you balance the air flow in the different ports?

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Okay, I got the readings from the vacuum tree at idle. Is this the proper place to test? I got around 18 in. HG. It would go to a minumum of 17.5 and a maximum of 18.5. I then took off the brake hose from the tree and tested there, and got the same results. If the brake booster hose was...

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

Yes, stock engine. Who sells vacuum gauges? Wal Mart, autozone? I've cleaned the MAF but what is clocking? If I have a vacuum leak, the reading at the tree would be lower, right? Thanks for your response. It's always good hearing new ideas. I forgot to mention: I've already cleaned...

    Do GTs have different spings/shocks?

Springs are for ricers? I'm sure the 9 second mustangs are using stock springs...

Ok, I guess the kit is okay to buy. Thanks again!

    Do GTs have different spings/shocks?

Thanks, but it just seems strange. I've been told the rear of a GT weighs about 200 lbs more than the rear of a notch.

    Vacuum leak in brake area?

My idle surges from time to time from 750-1100, but very infrequently. It seems completely random as far as I can tell. I pumped the brakes when it happened last and the idle settled at 1100 (even though my idle is normally set at 750) and as soon as I stopped pumping it surged again. I've...

best intake manifold for mostly stock 5.0?

I guess I'd like something flexible. I'd probably keep the stock heads for about another year or so. I guess the answer for me would be to let your port the stock lower just because it's cheap, and then swap in a better intake once I do heads. For a stock head/cammed car, do you think a...

    Wiring harnesses and vacuum lines?

I meant the small plastic lines actually. So no one makes those or sells new ones? The 02 sensor harness is seperate from the main harness and connects near the MAF. Thanks for the response. Anybody else?
