    Cheap Superchargers

Yep sure enough it's true. Why I had a buddy that bought THREE tornado air intakes and installed them one after the other. I didn't think it was a good idea but the dude had no intention of heeding my wisdom and fired her up. Well have you ever watched star trek, and the ship makes this huge...

    1.9 L engine problems Help please !

nah not trash, I did the same thing once (THE DAMN GAUGE WASN'T WORKING, OKAY) and it warped the heads, take it apart have head thoroughly checked by a machinist and replaced/milled as necessary, new head gasket... BUT I don't know why the compression is so crappy, wtf.

    which plugs?

unless the car burns oil in which case they foul after 3000 miles and the engine runs like crap. ...probably would not matter on a DP head. You just need something to plug the extra holes that some homo accidentially poked in that head.

I HATE FUEL INJECTION!!!! I WANT A CARB!!!

No you haven't. ALL electronic fuel injected engines are an incredible nuisance to keep running right. In fact I stay away from anything that is run by electricity.

    which plugs?

Autolite plain copper spark plugs work good and are the specified replacement. Maybe other plugs would work well, I know the Bosch platinums increase power and fuel mileage UNTIL they foul, but Autolites are what I use. I tried Autolite spark plug wires and they are probably the best you will...

    Question about removing exhaust

Stinger said it... let the axle hang down and muffler/tailpipe assembly comes out with some persuasion.
  10. Ray III

Police say my exhaust is too loud.

do you have a tailpipe? It's way too loud without one. No cat hurts ya too. don't rev the piss out of it if you're in the city etc... even if it is not that loud at low RPM that's not what they're hearing. I HAVE gotten away from a loud exhaust ticket without any evidence... but if I were...

    smoking...sad!

Jesus Christ on a cracker THE ENGINE DOES NOT NEED TO BE REBUILT. It probably does not even need new head gaskets. Drive the car around some, or at least let it run up to operating temperature, then rev the engine a few times and see if anymore smoke comes out the tailpipes, does it have...

Gt parts?? What can i use

You'll never break a 7.5 rearend with a 4 cylinder and you can get traclok kits for it... I wouldn't bother with the 8.8 You will forever need to use 15"+ rims with V8 brakes.

    4 cyl help!!

I bet you didn't even check to see if the timing belt is intact?

    4 cyl help!!

Your first reply was the best one: See if it has fuel pressure BEFORE dicking around with everything. If you refuse to get a gauge, at least remove the schraeder valve cap and poke a skinny metal object into the valve. Fuel pressure at the rail? Then the engine didn't stop because of the...

exactly how important is ported intake? next mods

I couldn't tell any difference in power taking it up higher. It ran fine at 10 and it ran fine at 20. I just set it at 16 BTC to be safe and went back to 87 octane. I will try again after I got a better coil on there. What cam are you using?

exactly how important is ported intake? next mods

I really should of done the head porting when I had the motor apart, I didn't want to spend the money on it, as it is I'm not taking the engine apart again... so it is gonna have to be bolt ons guess I'll put an MSD coil on there when I have the money for it and if that doesn't do something...

Raised compression, now motor wants 20 deg spark advance to idle, whats with that?

Good call on the air charge temp sensor. I did try to clean that thing in the parts washer when I had it apart and I have come to notice that when I start it in the morning the idle is smooth as silk but when the engine heats up the lumpy idle is there. I will replace that when I got some cash...

What to replace after sitting for 6 years?

Get under back of car, remove fuel filter, run fuel pump until all old fuel is purged. Fill tank with 5 gallons of fresh fuel, preferably with a fuel system cleaner, install new fuel filter, disconnect high pressure line at engine fuel rail (will need appropriate disconnect tool) and run pump...

    Bushed vs. Pressed Rods

The rods in stock motors have the piston pins pressed into them, and the piston floats around the fixed pin. A full floating pin rides in a brass bushing in the rod that is the same bore as in the piston, and is kept from escaping by snap rings or spiral lock rings in the sides of the piston...
