    No way of testing this that I know of, but that is usually the source of of a ticking or clacking noise on start up. Just as long as it's not a knock. My brothers car did it for ever, he sold it like that. It's not hard or expensive to replace them though.

    Yeah the tranny will have to be pulled and drained to fix it. But I would look down the speedo gear hole first to see if the gear is there, if it's not then you pull the tranny.

    Had the exact problem. Hook up a volt meter to the tps like you going to set it up ( pretty sure it's the green wire). With the key on engine off you should get just below 1 volt, you the proceed to slowly move the throttle open watching the volt meter, once mine got to about 2.25 V it went...
