    Rattling from bellhousing

    You don't want any pre-load on the throw-out bearing as it will lead to premature wear. you need a bit of freplay in the cltch pedal, usually about 1/2 an inch.

    It's happened both ways to me. I put new heads on my old Chevelle and it started burning oil right away, I added new heads to my Mustang and never had a problem. I don't think you'll have a problem, the way the engines are built and tuned now-a-days they last twice as long as the old engines...

    The tanks from 83 and up will fit I belive, but you will need to install an electric fuel pump and rig a fuel pick-up for the new tank.

    EVP voltage to low

    Are you getting the full 5 volts of supply voltage? You may have some resistance in one of the connectors (loose or corroded) or some wire with the "green disease".

    Its not the most accurate method, but if the mark went just slightly past 4 complete rotations then it's probably 4.XX:1, just under then 3.73's or 3.90's.

    If you still have the cats on your car, taking the mufflers off won't really free up the exhaust, the cats will be the restriction.

    You can get adjustable uppers to adjust pinion angle, which will greatly improve launching. Start with lowers though if your just doing one set at a time.

    Fuel Problem

    Fuel pressure should rise (to your 40# setting) when you hit the throttle. Your regulator may be screwing up or your pump is weak.

    header to h pipe bolts

    I think they were a stud with a spring on them to allow for some flex. If the headers have been drilled out for bolts to slide through you may be out of luck. Use a good grade 8+ bolt and make sure everything is lined up straight before you tighten it down.

    I'd put on the re-enforcers whiole you have the control arms off...it's cheap insurance, and could save you a lot of grief in the future.

    If he is running Hyd. filters (and I hope he is, otherwise walk away) get him to remove a filter and cut it apart to look for any signs of metal, this will tell you if there is a pump going away or not. Check the Hydraulic lines for any signs of bubbling (usually around the fitting) . Try all...
