    stater flywheel issues!

    Believe it or not but has they sell starter shims for fords. They serve the same purpose as for those other cars (cant say that bad C word) lol. I didnt believe it when I heard about it untill I saw it myself. The starter bolts do come loose alot. The bolt size is 3/8. They are standard size bolts.

    Is there a backing plate there. Its in between the motor and trans. Also make sure the bolts are tight and not stripped out. If all the above is good than get a starter shim. They do have them for fords. Or you can take a washer or two and put them in between the the starter and the bellhousing...

    Disconnect the cable from the trans then do it. Have someone hold the end of the cable while you pull up on the pedal. If that does not work than put a clutch in it.

    Right but this guy is putting a T-5 in from a 95 cobra, in his 86. A flywheel for a T-5 is 157 teeth.

    Easy way to check the guage and wire is to disconnect the wire from the sending unit and ground it. The guage should peg out. If it doesnt than its either electrical or the guage is bad

    Flywheels for a V6 and a V8 are the same. 157 teeth are the manual flywheels 164 teeth are the auto flywheels. Just counted my man flywheel to double check. Its 157.So its not the flywheel.     Is it a stock cable or is it an adjustable cable. If its adjustable then adjust it. If its not then pull up on the pedal for the self adjuster to do its job.

    Ask him if the input shaft splines are fine or coarse. If they are fine splines the trans is out of a 4 cyl mustang. If they are coarse splines then its a V8 trans.

    He pt gear oil in to hide a problem. The syncros and or the gear and or the slider could be bad. Fix it now before you cause more damage. Amsoil works real well in the T5. No gear oil. The royal purple ATF is regular ATF with purple dye in it. Its nothing special. Trust me I know this

    Will a 93 wiring EFI main wiring harness work in an 87. I still want to use my computer. Will it work. I have look at diagrams from t-moss. They look the same I think they will work but want to know for sure. Need to know asap cause can one for free tommorrow.
