How much is VAT on a new car in the USA?

Brian68GT... wouldn't you actually want to purchase a canadian model for the metric speedometer? Your question might be better asked to a canadian owner. Just a thought...

Could this be Ford's plan for their special models?

Can Ford use "Boss"? Didn't they give/sell/license/lose in a poker game, the name to Shinoda? I'd also be surprised to see a GT 350 or GT 500 model, but this car is just screaming for a shaker scoop, it even looks like its stamped for the hole to be cut into the hood. This car would make an...

    guage cluster color change

It would be pretty difficult to change all the various backlights. All the cluster lights share a common circuit... Just like when you dim the cluster lights, the others don't change... I doubt I would want the color change option, just another useless gadget in my opinion. I have a hard...

    need coil spring compressor answer!!

Its best to use an inside compressor, and to make it even easier you can modify it. Just unscrew the bottom arm off the shaft, and remove the upper arm also. Get a 10-12" piece of 2x4 and drill a hole in the middle of it for the shaft. Put a large washer (there should be one at...

would you powder coat exhaust headers

You can get high temp powder coatings for header & exhaust manifold applications. Its good to 1000 degrees. Drop a PM to ALLCARFAN, I think he's in the business.

What type of electric fan is best?

I'm using the Hot Rod Air electric fan, 8 blades, thermostat & relay included, 2700 cfm. I used it all last summer on the hot Georgia asphalt and never got close to the center mark on the temp gauge... I'm also using a 4-row radiator, which is a waste of money in my opinion, a good copper 3-row...

65 Mustang with cowl induction hood?

I'm using light tension springs with original hood latch... Its got fiberglass rails to support itself and is really pretty strong. The light tension springs are just slightly too weak to hold the hood up...thus the rod. Good control and no stress on the hood during opening & closing, though.

70 upper ball joint grease fitting

I'm not saying that you're wrong... buts its a good possibility that your shock towers were already weak or broken at the welds and the UCA bushings just made it worse. With the bushing bad, the vibrations could have easily caused the upper control to loosen some, possibly enough to drop a shim...

    How big?

I agree, but you'll also shake your valvetrain to pieces if you get revving to high... the stock springs barely hold together in a totally stock configuration during high revs.

    C4 Issues

You want to try VERY hard to hold the servo piston in place while you get the new gasket in place... if you here a clunk, you'll have to pull the valvebody out to replace the end of the band adjuster. But the valvebody R&R is pretty simple, as you know. Just be sure to replace the pan...

    289 Plug wire/Distributor question

Make sure the #1 piston is topped out on the compression stroke, else you'll be 180 out.

hypereutectic VS nitrous & some fun at the track!

Your friend obviously didn't install his nitrous system very well. He should have installed safeguards to prevent the above from happening. With a good tune, hypereutectic pistons should be able to handle a 125 shot, even with 10:1 compression, or perhaps especially with high compression...

70 upper ball joint grease fitting

Thats an interesting story, that does deserve some thoughtful consideration. While I don't think the worn bushing is the culprit, all by itself. It does look like multiple sources could have been working against you. Either way, weak/broken shock tower welds and worn UCA bushings are...

65 Mustang with cowl induction hood?

I don't know if this will help, but here's a few pics of mine...just scroll down toward the bottom. http://home.mchsi.com/~pford59257/index.html

    Where to get 289 parts?

Let the machine shop check the bore for you. If you're not familiar with the terms, you won't be able to accurately measure. Before committing to a rebuild, check Autozone, Advance auto, etc, for the price of a 302 longblock. All your 289 external parts will fit on it with no problem, and you...

    C4 Issues

I hate pan gaskets and always use Black RTV to seal them... You can probably get a new seal kit that would include the rear extension and servo gaskets, for only a few bucks or the needed gaskets individually from a transmission parts store. You were told the correct thing about installing...

    master cyclinder ?

Yep... the larger bowl is for the front brakes. It usually the front bowl is for the rear brakes, rear bowl is for the front brakes... makes no sense. Just remember big bowl for the front...

    What kind of Paint?

Mustangs Unlimited and other vendors sell interior paints that are color correct. They seem to be a bit thin to me, but thats better to retain the moonskin finish in the metalwork.

70 upper ball joint grease fitting

Your shock towers cracked because it had holes drilled in? WTF... were they 3" holes or just shoddy work?

    Headliner Glue

I don't see why you can't use a little contact cement sparingly, its going to be up under the rear window seal or front trim strip anyway...
