    I've said it before and I'll say it again: you can see the mufflers from behind on the new BMW M5. If they can be seen on a $90K uber-sedan, why is it such a big deal on a $25K Mustang? :shrug:

    I fail to understand the nitpicking about the muffler placement. Almost all new cars have the muffs behind the rear axle. It's a safety issue and it's time to get over it.

    They're supposed to ask. This is straight from the partner website: Maybe you lucked out with a dealer that didn't care. When I bought my Mazda, they asked for proof.

    That's all well and good but you still have to prove you're employed by IBM before the PIN is accepted by dealer. Otherwise, it's useless.

    That's why I like X-plan. I hate to haggle with car salesmen. I'd rather walk into the dealership knowing exactly what my price is going to be. The only negotiating left to do is over the trade-in (if I have one).

    When I log into the Ford Partner website (where I got my pin), I can then click the link for Ford Direct site and it will shows x-plan price for any Ford in stock at the dealerships you select.

    Call the parts department at your dealer. If it's available, they should be able to order it for you. I have a feeling though that with high demand and production ramping up you might have to wait awhile.

    Like I've said before, if you couple the fact the GM is discounting the GTO that heavily and they've still only sold 50% of what they expected, it won't be too much longer and we'll be talking about the GTO in the past tense like we do the Camaro and Firebird.

    Correct. The point I was trying to make is that base gasoline is the same no matter where you buy it (with the one exception I mentioned). Trying to say brand x is better than brand y in regard to anything but additives is nonsense.

All refiners blend gasoline to a spec and it all gets dumped into the same pipeline where it goes to the distributor. The gas you buy at Amaco could come from a Chevron or...
