    That fender is not a total loss. It can be straightened out, sanded, and repainted. The header panel is also repairable with a fiberglass repair kit.

    It sounds as if the 302 pan is the wrong one for a II. If you grind anything off the rack, please be careful not to take much off.

    Unfortunatly, you may have to buy a used cable with the nut still on it. Try ebay first.

    I had a 302 HO in mine before I swapped it out to a 351. When I got the car, the distributer was in the hatch area with other parts. When I tried to start the car for the first time, all I got was a lot of backfiring, and no start. Took me a couple days to find out that the HO shares the same...

    Ebay is where i have been finding a lot of mustang ii items lately. I usually see those carbs listed, but i just checked after reading your post, and there are none today. Keep checking Ebay though, someone will have one eventually. Good luck.

    Oil Cooler-er??

    The best thing to do would be to get a larger or better radiator. The next best would be to add an electric fan in front of the radiator.

    Ooops, broke my tranny.

    Sucks that you had such a bad day, we've all been there. If you decide to use the auto, please remember to remove the pilot bushing from the crank end, otherwise you may end up crushing into the torque convertor. It's really not that big of a job to do, I just tied back the clutch pedal out...

    Starter issues

    Are you using the correct adaptor plate between the engine and trans? This plate gives the correct starter position for each particular setup. The starter bolt holes should line up with this plate and the bell.

    351W sligh misfire and popping after sitting

    Got to agree on this with Dano, and add. After sitting all winter, you might want to check for corrosion at the bulb sockets. Seems that the II's are notorious for wiring corrosion.

    Thanks, I couldn't remember the name when I posted. Like I said, before I learned more about cars, the "cool" thing to do back in the early seventies, was to raise the rear, add chrome rims, and a wild paint job. Two of those ideas stuck through the years. If anyone here has pics of their car...

    A lot of guys used air shocks in the seventies, I had a set of Hurst Hijackers on my 65 Dart. Monroe also also sold airshocks. They were good for looks only, it gave the car that "drag race" look. primarily sold for cars used for towing so the rear didn't sag down under load. Better to use...
