    I had a 1996 Explorer...same platform as the 99. It was a rough ride for sure. I now have a 2003 with the IRS and it rides like a dream.

    I've got 35,000 miles on my 2002 with 100+ passes. I'm on my second T3650. Other than that the only thing I have had to replace is tires.

    There would be a lot involved in putting in a big block. Plus with that one I posted you'd never pass emissions. Nowadays you can make insane hp out of small blocks there isn't really a point to big blocks for the street. I still am diehard big block for life though! :flag:

    Yeah...I reread everthing too...haha. Your post is before mine because you are posting on forums.stangnet.net...its the mirror to forums.stangnet.com. The clocks are not set correctly so it messes up the order of posts between the 2 sites.

I have seen 275 bfg's mounted on the stock rim and its fine...but there is no way I would trust it taking high speed turns. If...

    Your rims are the stock ones right??? I think they are high polished aluminum instead of chrome...so the salt shouldn't have as bad of an effect on them. If you want cheap winter rims I know you can buy used V6 rims for next to nothing.

    Took silencer out...car sputering

    It has always totally baffled me why people run premium gas in their GT's when there is no reason too. Premium is not a cleaner gas...its just a different octane. Our car is meant to run on regular (87 or 89 is some places). Removing the air silencer should not cause any spuddering.

    GTvert01...those look pretty damn nice! Was your install pretty simple? I just got 3 white autometer gauges for my A pillar so now I want white face gauges to match.
