chip where valve stud should go!! HELP

That don't look so good. Is there any threads at all left in there? Maybe you can JB weld a stud in and use it instead of a bolt.

    Auto to Manual Swap

+1 on this. You can fill out the list on the site, and Burce is a real nice guy who can help answer your questions. And yes, there are threads a-plenty on this topic here.:D

    What do I fix first?

Call around to your local salvage yards and ask if they have any Granadas that still have the front disc brakes. If you find one get the spindles and proportioning valve. If the Rotors are good get them too. Although new rotors, calipers and bearings are not expensive. You will also need to get...

What did you do to your classic Mustang today?

Honestly, I have no experience with the Borgeson kit. I just know that the fittings on the box interfere with the stock clutch bellcrank. It is nice that it includes a Pump, although it looks kinda GMish. I have installed the TCP rack and driven three cars that were equipped with it and it is...

where to install temp sensor for electric fans

NO, see the two flat spots in the casting just in front of the rear bolt holes? You will have to drill and tap one of them for the switch if you cannot use the T'stat housing.

    What do I fix first?

That looks like a great project. :nice: Definitely attack the rust first. Then the suspension and brakes. A Granada or a Maverick is a good donor for front disc brakes on the cheap. Just make sure the donor car has 11" rotors. Those two things should keep you busy for a while.

where to install temp sensor for electric fans

The factory Mustang intake has two threaded ports on the rear of the intake. One is used for the coolant hose that goes to the EGR spacer. The other one is on the driver side rear and is plugged off from the factory. I used that one. But when I changed to the 97' Explorer intake I had to drill...

    Mercon V

Would it be okay to run Mercon V in a T-5 tranny? The only reason I'm asking is because I have two cases of the stuff and want to use some of it in something. If I understand correctly Mercon V is fully synthetic. Anyone out there have an opinion or suggestion? Thanks.

Then you should have no issues with the Borgeson kit. For not much more you can put a TCP R & P.

    reinforced shock towers

Only the big block Mach1's had the reinforced towers. Since you are not going for concourse you can buy the kit that Palerider posted and reinforce your towers. The kit includes pieces that the factory didn't include and it would be even stronger.

    Early Style 289 Timing Cover

I could be wrong, but doesn't the Power steering pump drive the Water pump on cars with Power steering? And the Alternator is driven straight off of the Crank pulley?
