    Questions - Putting a 93 5.0 in a 66

you can drill the later model timing cover for the dipstick tube, no big deal. in fact some later model timing covers just have the dipstick opening plugged with a plug that you can pop out with a hammer and punch.

Should I mod the 302 or run the 390?

personally i would build the 302 for the mustang, as i tend to prefer a balanced car that can go around corners. that said, the 390 is a excellent engine to build for performance, many racers are still using them, as well as other FE motors, in drag racing and doing quite well with them thank...

    Questions about putting a 4.6 into a 1966

honestly i would go for the strut suspension, but use the front arms from the later SN95 cars as they are longer and do improve handling over the earlier fox body cars. in fact some guys use the SN95(aka fox-4) arms as an upgrade since they bolt it. at the same time they also do a five lug...

    1966 i6 steering/suspension help

the popular disc brake swap for many years was the granada front disc system. they were cheap, easy to get parts for, and bolted in place of the stock spindles with a change of tie rod ends. the years of parts you would be looking for are 1975-1980 granada/monarch. my advice would be to take...

    Engine Instruments

the problem is that all the gauges are not working, and that means a power issue to the IVR. it could be in the switch, but that usually means you have other systems having issues as well.

65 Mustang overheating are high speeds

think noobz hit the target here. i also think you have an issue with airflow through the rad at higher speeds. in addition to what noobz wrote, you can also open up the area where the license plate sits on the valance panel they way shelby did with his early R model GT350s, that way you get more...

    Engine Instruments

by not working i assume you mean the needles dont move at all, yes? if so then you have a power problem to the instruments. start by checking your fuses. you may have other things not working as well. after that check downstream of the gauges to the sensors and make sure they are hooked up...

yep, sounds like vacuum modulator issues. either no vacuum, bad modulator, or bad adjustment on the modulator(yes some are adjustable).

    1966 Mustang Brake Issues

i think the problem is the lack of a proper pedal ratio for the power brake booster. for the 65-66 cars ford used an adapter like this one for installing power brakes; https://www.npdlink.com/product/booster-assy-pb-conversion-wo-master-cylinder-use/103480/200347 as you can see the pedal ratio...

Air in fuel lines or vapor lock?

something else to consider, check the rubber fuel lines to make sure they are not drawing air. i had that very issue on a 79 oldsmobile i once owned. the line out of the tank to the steel hard line in the back would become porus when things warmed up. eventually it would draw air all the time.

Suspension INSTALLING COBRA IRS INTO 1965 COUPE

i think the cobra IRS is going to be too wide for the first gen mustangs. from what i have seen the cobra IRS will fit the 67-73 mustangs, but you are going to have to make your own mounts. do check the location of the front spring mount son the early car and compare it to the length of the fox...

C4 Transmission kick down shifter is leaking

i dont recall any such tool for the ford transmissions, but you might find a mac, snap on, or matco truck around town and see if they have anything that will help. the tool truck guys really know their stuff.

Vapor Lock 200 in line six

usually the problem is the carb itself runs too hot and the fuel boils in the bowl. it isnt too much of an issue at speed normally since there is enough fuel flowing to the carb to feed the engine. the problem is at idle where the fuel flow drops to kind of a trickle and cant keep up. go to...

    2007 4.0 V-6, Wonky oil pressure.

replace teh sensor and clean the electrical conections, and give them a coat of dielectric grease. chances are the sensor is going bad, and coupled with a bad connection its giving the PCM faulty readings.

Bringing an old 289 back to life

well assuming the engine isnt overheating or knocking badly, you can nurse it along for a year or so with continued maintenance. just keep a sharp eye out for signs of water in the oil, like milkshake colored sludge, losing coolant regularly with no observable leaking, etc. auto engines are...

    1974 F-100 9" in a 1967 Mustang coupe

you would first need to remove all the suspension brackets and then narrow the housing to fit your car, easy enough to do though. if you measure carefully you can use the stock 8" axles from your 67 until such time as you can afford to replace them with something stronger. this assumes you use...

Bringing an old 289 back to life

it sounds like its rebuild time. you have too much discrepancy between all the cylinders. if there is a head gasket issue, then you need to make sure the block deck and head surfaces are as flat as possible to prevent future such issues.

    408 Stroker build (what heads)

if you have 195cc heads on now, they will do fine. the 205s are a small step up. this is based on your choice of cam for the engine. where the 205s would help is on the top end, where you really dont need the power anyway since you wont be racing, as you have said this is basically a street...

    Will a Mustang radio made for a 1964 - 1966 Mustang Stereo

i have an aftermarket cassette player in my 64 falcon futura. because of an interior trim piece in the car it needs a different radio than the standard falcons use. i didnt cut the dash to use that radio. i would start by going to electronics sales and start measuring head units until you find...
