    Engine Knocks At Idle

Pull the cover before you go any further & inspect your valve train. Seems to be lots of valve train issues on this board.

WTF? No oil pressure and the engine still runs?

bull999999 You will find the oil pumps are sensitive to debris. Will twist that shaft right off. Try priming the pump with an electric drill. You'll know when you get pressure the drill will almost come to a halt. Use to race an SCCA American Sedan Mustang. 302 about 400hp. Using Mobil 1...

What is wrong with this engine? Accelerates like I am pulling a big trailer

If you suspect a vacuum leak & can't find it call around to some local shops & see who has a "smoker." They'll find the leak in no time.

one2gamble That's a good trick victorII is suggesting. I have sets for chevys & fords. Just make sure the engine is hot when you do it.

I'm surprised your getting a lifter noise after only 10K. There are so many issues that could be causing your noise. It may not be a lifter. Who rebuilt the motor, who did the machine work, was it done correctly? Did you break in the cam properly? I assume you drive the car hard. Is it warmed up...

Let us know what the foot of the lifter looks like once you get it out. If there are any wear marks (grove or scratches) you'll need a cam.

Got to disagree with you fellows on putting a new lifter on an old cam. Check with comp cam, etc. Not recommended. But each to his own.

Be careful, don't just change one lifter, you may wipe out the cam lobe. If you plan on keeping the car do it right. You can also use kerosene or marvel mystery oil to clean out the lifter.

Pics of the 2005 Mustang GT w/ the 2000 R

Not really a fair comparison. You have the ultimate late model Mustang "R" against a stock GT. Lets compare the next Cobra, Cobra R?, then we will see which is meaner. I think the later will blow us all away.

The one thing you would have done different.

The One's That Got Away In 1970 I was at Bob Grossman's showroom in Nyack, NY. He took me to a building a few miles away & showed me two 427 SC's. One blue with white stripes, one red with white strips. Both had about 5k miles on them. Mint. He said take your pick, $6500 each. Did get to drive...

2007, the Mustang will have Competition, Camaro is Alive AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Ricks your right about the modern cars. But when you consider the technology in the 60's, the cost of the car then, (about 7K, you can still buy a new CSX for about 130K) the SC was & will always be the bench mark for the ultimate street car. Anyone who has driven one will agree, it is a...
