Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

So, there's really no difference between the two that you can feel in the "seat of the pants meter" :rlaugh: Or in other words, you'd need to watch a dyno readout to see the tiny difference in the F/A ratio between one and the other.

Follow-up Question on Previous Post re:GAS dripping from accelerator cover

What carb do you have on it ? If it's a Holley, I've got a half dozen extras. If it's an Autolite, I've got one of those too. You really don't want a "band-aid" fix that involves leaking fuel.

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Build a roller 302 with a carb. I've got a mild one in my 89 Ranger that's a blast to drive with a 4 speed.

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Clean slate huh ? Just make sure it'll stop and handle the corners before choosing a motor. 535 HP is PLENTY of power for public highways. Hell even building up the 289 will put a smile on your face if done right. (10-11 to 1 comp, good heads, a retro fit hydro roller cam, highrise dual plane...

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Cause they're "Fuggly" ? :rlaugh: Most guys I've seen with em, don't know or never took the time to tune a Holley. Set em once and leave em the hell alone. They'll stay that way for years. If you think you have a problem, 90% of the time it's the ignition causing it.

What transmission's in there now ?

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

That lake is south of 21 at the Cadoan Mounds park, just east of the river. One of these day's I wouldn't mind retiring somewhere in east Texas. Love those sleepy little towns.

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Before doing anything with the engine, and if you truly have a goal of planting a 500+ HP motor in there, do as S-Car-Go suggested and make sure the suspension, brakes and rearend can handle it. You're transmission (if it's an auto and not a Toploader 4 speed) will need to be upgraded too. If...

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Weches ? I know it well. I had kinfolk in Alto, Rusk and Frankston. Been thru there many times. I used to be leased to a trucking co. in Diboll in the mid 80's. I've all but lived all over east Texas since graduating from HS in 77 and moving to Louisiana, driving trucks. I remember going to...

Holley VS Edlebrock. 750cfm on street engine.

Contrary to what all the others have recommended as far as the engine build, you have to first ask yourself what you want the car to do. Very few 700 hp engines are anywhere near "streetable". And the cops will love you, everytime you take it on the road (unless your "kin" are populating the...

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

;) So tell me what the exact power output difference is between the two at any given RPM ? :D

Fuel injection VS carb. 500hp engine.

Aside from drastic altitude changes (we ain't got that problem here) I have none of those problems using a carb(s)

Need To Buy a Holley Carb, Any Recommendations?

:D Just me, but I'd go with TWO Holley's on that motor. Like twin 390's on the 2x4 setup Mustangs Unlimited sells. :nice:

    Ignition Timing-Where To Start?

No breakin time needed with a roller cam.

    Ignition Timing-Where To Start?

One thing you're doing wrong is trying to tune it with open headers. Put a cork on em, then try tuning the ignition and carb.

Can I Pressure Wash A Radiator?

I wash em with a pressure washer all the time, just use common sense in aiming the spray, it'll do fine.
