DON'T BUY GAS ON MAY 19TH!!!!

87GT seems to be about the only voice of reason in this thread. There is a finite amount of oil on this planet. Our consumption is increasing while our supply is decreasing. The law of supply and demand tells us that this will raise prices. The ANWR is not a solution either. The United...

wandering car after ford 17x9 cobra r wheel install

Another vote for bumpsteer. My foxes both do this and the alignments are perfectly within specs. You probably won't fix it without a bumpsteer kit or other serious suspension work.

heater core for 93 5.0 LX

If anyone has any good information on this, i'd appreciate it too. I need to replace the heater core in my '90 LX (with A/C :( ) really soon. it's not leaking yet, but it reeks of mildew.

11mpg on fox w/ only bolt ons???

Both of my cars have stock engines. No real mods other than cat-back exhaust. For my daily use i only get about 14-15 mpg from each of them (one auto, one stick). Driving around town is just killer on gas mileage. I've gotten 25mpg before with my auto on the highway. Never really taken the...

    A/C Delete Questions

Don't forget that you'll need a new shorter belt since you'll be driving one less pulley. Don't know the size off the top of my head, but i'll be needing to get one this summer when i do the A/C delete also.

HELP! My car weighs 3620 lbs. Put it on a diet!!!

What exactly do you want us to tell you? You keep asking how to lose weight but are unwilling to actually REMOVE anything to do it. You've already said you won't remove the A/C, smog, stereo, power windows, power locks, GT bodywork, etc. You can't shed pounds without removing something -...

Speedo is 10mph off, how can i fix this?

Thanks for the link, jrichker. Looks like that fix will work, but i'll have to remove the 23 tooth and go BACK to a 17 tooth and then change the drive gears as well. I think i'll just live with the error rather than go through all that trouble.

Speedo is 10mph off, how can i fix this?

My speedo is 10mph off, but it doesn't need a new gear. I know this because it's ALWAYS 10mph off. I've got a T5, 3.55s, and a 23 tooth gear. When i'm going 25 it reads 35 and when i'm going 75 it reads 85. So, i just basically need to move the needle "back" 10mph. Is there any way to do...

    3G Install gone wrong??

This is correct. It does no good to fuse a wire and then have a bypass around the fuse. People make hooking up the 3G WAAAAAY harder than it needs to be. When i wired up my second car i simply used a vampire tap for the white/black wire and ran the 4ga fused wire. That was it. I didn't cut...

Heater not working and coolant keeps disappearing

Sometimes you'll have a leak that won't leave a puddle on the ground. My car had a leak from the hoses that run through the throttle body to the EGR. Even though there was a leak, i could never see a puddle because the coolant would burn off on the hot block/heads before it could ever drip. I...

Has anyone solved the Chrome Water neck leak?

From what i've heard the reason that the chrome ones leak is because the chroming process slightly warps the metal. The only fix i would trust is either: 1) have the seal milled to make sure it's perfectly flat (you could probably do this by hand, even) 2) Don't use the chrome versions...

    Snowing Inside the mustang

I doubt that snow is getting in through the windshield seal unless you've got a HUGE leak there. Check again. It's probably snow coming in the cowl and through the defroster, then swirling around near the headliner. You probably just didn't see it while it was going up the inside of the...

    3g alternator wiring kit QUESTION

You can buy the fuse and holder and splice it in. You'll have to buy some butt connectors and may have to have them installed if you don't have the correct tool. It's not hard, but is a pain, which is why i bought the PA kit the second time around.

Ordering 3g alternator, but have a question

You need either the "Standard Long" or "Premium Long". I chose the standard long as the premium wasn't worth the extra money to me. You'll end up with about one extra foot of wire, but it's easy to take up the slack somewhere and will give you more choices on where to route the wiring.

    3g alternator wiring kit QUESTION

It's there to prevent the alternator from "overcharging" and putting out more than X number of amps to the battery. You don't HAVE to put the fuse (or a fusible link) in there, but if this were to happen it could really fry your wiring system. Lots of people have done the upgrade without using...

    Seatbelt lockup, doesnt?

TRWXXA is correct. Seat belts should NOT lock up just by pulling on them quickly. They operate using a pendulum that swings when the car is under deceleration. If you perform a panic stop, the belts should lock. But just tugging on the seatbelts is not a valid way of testing them.

    I want 300hp (flywheel)

46lbs is 46lbs, i say. Both of my cars have A/C but neither of them work. They need recharged and i assume they have small leaks after 12 years of use. It would cost me hundreds of dollars to have the system checked, flushed, converted to new refrigerant, and refilled. Not worth it to me...
