    96-98 Cobra v/s 03-04 Mach 1

I have a question, why is it that the 03-04 Mach 1's seem to outperform the 96-98 Cobra's in stock form. According to what I have found, the 96-98 Cobra has a curb weight of about 3400 lbs and produces 305hp @5800rpms and 300 ft. lbs of torque at 4800 rpms. Whereas the Mach 1 with an almost...

Hammer or Hurst auto Shifter for 2003 GT auto?

It takes awhile, one of my buddies that is a mechanic helped me install mine. Well, basically he did it and I watched, lol :D. No really, we worked on it together and it was tedious. You have to loosen the console and lift it up a few inches, then you really need to get the car on a lift (which...

    New Dyno sheet...!!!

Why did you go from the Pro-M to the C&L mass air meter? And why did you put the Mass air sensor back in the engine bay? I thought that one of the main reasons the "powerpipe" worked so well is because it keeps the MAF sensor out of the hot engine bay. And the C&L with factory electronics is...

    Which bolt-on next?

True, I have the factory subframes and have thought about relocating the battery to the trunk. But I am primarily trying to focus on N/A horsepower. I have also thought about upgrading the ignition with something like the plasma booster:shrug:

    Which bolt-on next?

No horsepower to gain from a trans cooler. Just keeps the operating temperature of your automatic trans fluid down. Extra heat is the number 1 killer of transmissions and the extra cooler in line with the factory one helps keep temps at a favorable level. That way you get more consistent shifts...

    FRPP 70mm TB?

Go with accufab. I had a 70mm FRPP TB and wasn't impressed. I recently upgraded to an accufab 70mm TB and plenum and I'm much happier. They are a little more expensive but in all the head to head comparisons they perform the best. I think I've learned this the hard way after buying some parts...

Yea, I have a tranny cooler too. I am just trying to focus on ways to gain a few more HP.

    Which bolt-on next?

I have thought about supercharging the car, but one thing that holds me back is the big investment, and secondly it seems like when cars are at the strip and they are either supercharged or running nitrous people always seem to lump them in differently with the other cars. What I mean is, when a...

    Which bolt-on next?

I recently had my car dyno tuned and made 247rwhp and 286ft.lbs.tq. (Since then I have added an accufab plenum and 70mm TB, previously I had a ported stock plenum, plenum spacer, and FRPP 70mm TB which I think was questionable at best) My car is an auto, and I will list just the HP mods...

    Patching Drag Radials?

Well, the reason I ask is because I just bought a new set of Mickey ET drag radials 275/40-17 two weeks ago. Last week I picked up a screw in the passenger side and today, a nail in the drivers side. And to top it off, I was planning on taking them off today. I just hated to think that you would...

    Patching Drag Radials?

I have a set of Mickey Thompsaon ET Drag Radials and I guess since they are so soft I have picked up 2 nails. Is it ok to patch a drag radial? I have heard that a patch is better than a plug? I'm sure this has happened to people a lot, and I don't use them on the street much, but everytime I do...

    1/4 mile

240 to the wheels on an auto actually is pretty good. It really depends on the weight of the car though and if you have gears and a converter. If you havn't done any weight reduction and you don't have gears or a converter I would say low 14s would be a very close estimate.

Well, I checked with my converter guy and lock-up piston is billet. He said that over the years he has come across cars acting weird on the dyno and drving and performing fine. Car pulls really good. I am going to get out there and drive it some over the next few days and try to data log some...

Well guys, I appreciate the help so far. I am going to talk with my converter guy today about the lock-up piston, % slippage, etc. but the concensus seems to be that isn't the issue. I will also do some data logging over the next couple of days once I become a little more familiar with my SCT...

It doesn't seem to be doing it on the street, but I am fairly new to this to be able to tell for sure. Exactly what would it feel like? Also, my tuner drove the car both by himself and with me and mentioned something to the effect that often times with auto cars some strange things can happen on...

Dyno Experts, Please Help Me With Dyno Graph!

Thanks for the merge! My tuner said he adds a little fuel in that rpm range to cool the cylinders. So, the fuel block theory is out. This is what he said about the converter: No I think the reason the fuel flutters is because the converter was unlocking so we didn’t have the load I think...

Dyno Experts, Please Help Me With Dyno Graph!

The tuner thought it was a lock-up issue, but what if its a fuel issue: I wonder if that might be the issue, because my air/fuel starts to fluctuate a little there too. The only weird thing I have is one of the billet blocks on my fuel rail for a fuel pressure gauge, and theres a plug in the...
