SES light on after Prochamber install

Installed my Prochamber today and one my way home the SES light came on. I pulled the codes and it read 161-Defective O2 sensor. I was careful not to touch the tips. Also rechecked the connections. Also reset the computer by disconnecting the cable terminals. SES light still comes on. Any...

SES light on after Prochamber install

Resetting the computer didn't work. Ran up to autozone to have them read the code and it read 161 (defective O2 sensor). Does this mean the MILs are not working? I was very careful not to touch the tips of the O2 sensors. I also rechecked the connections and everything is good to go. Help.

SES light on after Prochamber install

Thanks for the quick response guys. I'll reset the computer to see if that works. During the install, I only disconnected to positive battery cable. Hopefully that's the problem.

    NGK PLUGS..Which ones?

I'm running the NGK iridium TR55ix plugs and I'm happy with them. I don't know which ones are for the stock cross reference though.

    4:10 or 4:30????

99SVTAddict always gets to these posts before me and always gives excellent advice. 4.10s minimum. I installed 4.10s thinking they would be too much and frankly they are not enough. 4.10s are a lot of fun though. I'd recommend 4.30s.

Just picked up a 99 cobra, got a few questions

Good choice. Most of the '99s has had "the fix" by now. You can call that number for peace of mind though. If I had to do it over again, I would go 4.30s. I feared the gear. Don't make the same mistake unless you are planning on a blower in the future. These cars got a bad rap, but you can...

    Who here has 18 x 9.5 wheels?

99SVTAddict hit it on the head. I'd also recommend you go 275s all around so you can rotate your tires which should make the tires last a little longer. I have no rubbing issues at all with 275/35/ZR18 tires. But if you are going to mix&match, I'd also go 295s in the rear.

    Steeda timing adjusters

Did you make sure it was installed correctly? Could also be that you have a defective adjuster. I have had good luck with mine and so have many others with this mod. It really is a proven mod. Good luck.

    4.10's in a 2000 GT?

Go 4.10s. I'm sure the pros will outweigh the cons. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

    Fake Snakes.....opinion???

I too don't like it when people make their cars out to be something it isn't. I'm not sure what there is to gain by doing such a thing. I have no problems with my '99 Cobra having "MUSTANG" on the bumper. Why should I be bothered if I know I have a Cobra, yet nobody believes it because what...

    Steeda Tri-ax Short Shifter

I love mine. A very good mod that could actually help prevent damage to your tranny. Go for it!!!

    99 Cobra Weak?

With the mods in your sig, you should be putting down more than that. In stock form after the fix, you should already be putting down 270 at the wheels. So, I also think your numbers are a bit low. Get it dynoed somewhere and make a comparison. I'm willing to bet you'll get a higher HP number.

    which one? 99 or 01.

They are pretty much the same cars. I'd find the best deal, which will more than likely be the '99. Don't pay 4-5K more for the '01 just for the seats and CD player, which is pretty much the difference between the two. You could probably find the '01 seats and an aftermarket system for about...

Is 120K miles too high for a 99 cobra?

I'd say, if you can get it for a REALLY good price, go for it. That is a lot of miles but you can always rebuild. With those miles, it's due for a rebuild anyway. If the car is in otherwise good shape and you can get a killer deal, I'd go for it. I only have 36K miles on mine, but it's not...

    99 cobra owners, teach me

These guys already covered it. With the IRS, you have to feather the clutch, and it takes practice to feather the clutch, yet still get a good launch. After about a year, I am finally able to feather the clutch and get a good hard launch. Practice, practice, practice. I'm one of the few who...

To 4.30 or not to 4.30, THAT is the question!!!!

Had 4.10s installed in my '99. I also wish I had gone with 4.30s. Since you have a 4.6 4V, 4.30s all the way!!! Like mentioned above, comparing 5.0 and 4.6 gearing is like comparing apples to oranges. Go for it. You'll thank us immediately after the test drive. :D

    #5 cylinder misfire

You might have to go to a colder plug. I didn't see that you had a Timing Adjuster in your sig, but if you do and are running too much timing, this could also trigger the light.

    leaning towards 99 COBRA!?

Although my opinion may seem biased because I have a '99 Cobra, I love these cars. Yes, SOME were low on horsepower from the factory but virtually all of them has had "the fix", so that shouldn't even be a concern anymore. If you're unsure, call 1-800-FORDSVT. The test drive will be...
