    A real sleeper is the Goerlich's Xlerator. It is straight thru design like the DM but have an 18" body. They are suprisingly quiet but flow as good as you can get. 99% of straight pipe.

    I felt the same thing when we added cats but unless you put on some nasty restrictive cats I think you were more 'hearing' the power. Cats act like an extra muffler in the system and really soften the tone. Did you check out the dyno tests we posted? Less than 4hp loss with adding cats.

    We just completed some rear wheel dyno tests on a 94 Mustang switching from oem H to 2.5 mandrel X. http://pypesexhaust.com/dyno-94mustang.html I would say a 1/10th in the 1/8th mile and 2/10ths in the quarter mile.

    If your system is brand new there usually is some mandrel oil residue still in and on the pipes. It should burn off after an hour or so of drive time.
