    Detonation????

Usually it's heard when the car is under load. Get on the freeway put it fourth, floor it and take it up to redline. If at anytime your engine sounds like something starts rattling , or knocking, or pinging, that's probably detonation. Immediately get off the gas. If you are not allready...

picked up a clay bar, how does it work

Regarding Dawn or any other dish soap: It should only be used to remove the old wax from your car prior to applying new wax. It should not be used every time you wash your car. The obvious reason - it strips wax (dish soaps are created to remove grease, they will also remove wax). When you...

    Bullit owners,come in

If he plans on keeping the car for twenty years then he should keep it stock and hope that it start appreciating in value. If not, tell him to get some 4.10 gears and a speedometer calibrator (speedcal). This should cost him +/- $400 and will wake up the acceleration. :nice:

X2C Boxer ST Control Arm Review

I just had the X2C Motorsports Boxer ST upper and lower control arms installed on my Bullitt and I took it to the track. Initial street driving impression was that the car hadn't been altered at all. The back end felt fine (maybe a tad bit stiffer!?), there is no squeaking and no additional...

    X2C MOTORSPORTS CONTROL ARMS

I just had the X2C Boxer ST control arms installed on my Bullitt and I like them. There's no squeaking and no additional noise is being transmitted to the cabin. I launched at 5-6k on 275-60-15 BFG dr's and they held up like a champ. 60 ft times were 1.6 to 1.7, which is my best ever...

    X2C upper/lower control arms

I like them alot. They are about the same weight as the stock control arms. I went to the track this weekend and launched @ 5-6 k on 275-60-15 BFG dr's and pulled 1.6 - 1.7 60 ft times. I've never done that before! The arms worked great and looked fine upon post race inspection. No...

How much boost can a stock intake withstand?

If he gets the C&L intake he'll get more power with less (or the same amount) of boost. That's a good thing. I'm not saying that the stock intake will blow up. I am saying the his stock intake is a restriction. It just seems to me that the $/hp ratio is excellent with the C&L and a blown GT.

How much boost can a stock intake withstand?

He's talking about the intake, not the bottom end. I'd suggest ditching that intake for the C&L. It's much stronger and I'm sure you'll pick up hp with the better flow. I'd get the C&L intake before getting cams or whatever it was you were planning to get. With your combo it'll be the...

MustangLife - Do you have the old X2C tubular style control arms or the new Boxer control arms?

    X2C upper/lower control arms

The old X2C arms (tubular) were crap. They discontinued making them. The new control arms (Boxers) are very nice pieces with Energy suspension bushings. I have the X2C Boxer ST's on my car.

    x2c motorsports

I looked at that post and the pictures of the control arms. It looks to me like the driveshaft may have broken first causing some kind of violent reaction in the rear end. If you look at the pics the X2C control arms are not deformed enough to cause the rear end to move so much as to break the...

Gains of stock bullit intake vs. stage 1 or stage 2p&p bullit intake

I have a Bullitt and I had the intake extrude honed. I picked up 0 horsepower when the car was naturally aspirated. This was proved on the dyno. The only time that I would suggest extrude honing a Bullitt intake is if your car is blown, has a new throttlebody, ported heads & a cam. The...

    X2C control arms are worthless

I think you'll be happy with the new X2C Boxer control arms. From what I've read the people with Boxer control arms are having really good results on the street and at the track. I'm going to get a set of the Boxer ST's along with slicks, 31 spline axles, and a Eaton posi. All work will be...

    Looking for opinions...

DSS has a great reputation for building quality motors as does X2C Motorsports. X2C has done ALL of the mods to my car and they've always treated me right. When it comes time for me to get forged internals I'll have X2C put together a combo for me. Good luck!

    Do's and Dont's of a blower

Here's some very good advice: Make sure that you have a clean (new) fuel filter when you install your blower. Also install new spark plugs that are the right temp and gapped correctly for a blower. These basic things could save you hours of headaches.
