    Shelby 350 Photoshoot

A buddy of mine took his Shelby 350 out today and I grabbed a few photos. Thought some here may enjoy them.

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

Desire yes, equipment no. I only own a very small compressor, and definitely no paint gun. I also don't have a garage that can maintain temps above about 55 degrees this time of year, and lower than that here shortly. I also have no experience whatsoever with it, and first times rarely go well...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

Could well be, I don't know. But that's where this all started, just me looking for options I could afford. I set aside $800 for aesthetics, although I could probably bump that a few hundred. Lowering springs and spacers were about $250 of that. So I wondered to myself what I could possibly do...

O'Reilly's and Advanced Auto. To be fair, the guy at O seemed like it was the first time he'd ever done it, but the guy at AA seemed competent. He said that the computer was giving him a color, but no code, so he couldn't really do anything with it. He was the one that suggested the national...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

That's pretty much the opinion of everyone, so I think I have my answer. I'd still love to see a photo if someone comes up with one, but... If it were actual truth, that would be fine. Calling me a liar and saying things like 'universally accepted definition of gross' isn't truth, it's just...

So, I called a local shop about wrapping. They wouldn't give me an exact quote without seeing the car, of course, but they estimated $2800 as a baseline minimum, and up to $4500 with other options like getting the door jambs and whatnot. I also asked about wrapping just the bumpers to match, but...

And that's fine, no problem. My question is, if you already hate the body style, why bother commenting? And, having commented, why should I feel your subjective feedback is valuable considering your disdain for the car? That's in *no way* a slam on you, just a genuine question. Which didn't...

I intend to add a spoiler, so that photo was an approximation of the end look. And you're right, I also intend to tint. That said, I'm now leaning away from this course of action. I have skills in other areas, and I'm planning to contact some paint shops to see if perhaps I can arrange a...

And I appreciate them, truly. Before asking, I was about 80/20 in favor. Now I'm about opposite that.

It does seem to be a universal opinion, so that's pretty telling. As for wrapping, it seems not only extremely difficult to do well, but certainly not cheap, either. Plus, the matte look just isn't my thing I suppose there are glossy wraps, but I sure never see them.

Although I wouldn't give up my family now for the world, I'd pay handsomely to go back and visit, ya know?

I'm a touch behind you, being born in '85. I drove a '93 2.3L for years. Desperate for more, I got a '95 5.0 in high school. Father son project car that I desperately regret selling. Now I'm back with a '94. Paint is always my kryptonite. Was then, is again.

Check my join date. :-) Been a while since I've been active, just lurked, because life (kids!) took away my ability to do anything car related. My wife tells me I sound like an a$$ sometimes, but I rarely intend to be! Hard to believe that is true for everyone.

The red and black looks sweet. I love this body style myself and always have. For me, it's right behind the original few years, and just in front of the brand new Mustangs. '99-'04 were the dark years for me.

Did my sarcasm about the 'how dare you' not come through? I wrote all that with a smile. As for that other dude, I don't care what he knows. He's one of the least pleasant forum members I've encountered in nearly 25 years of internet access, and I moderate one of the largest forums in the world...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

Dude, just go away. I don't know what crawled up your tailpipe and made you think you're God, but you really don't deserve the designation. You don't get to define subjective definitions, and calling me a liar isn't worthwhile because I know I'm not. Thanks to this thread, but not your pathetic...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

Sorry, I'm not on board with the idea that nothing can look good unless it's been done before. First, how dare you. How dare you compare our beloved Mustangs to those... things. Second, I'm not proposing something unpainted, I'm proposing factory black. Very different. Last, how dare you...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

Gross, definitely not going to happen. I've never seen that style of paint job look good on any car. Plus, it would require a professional paint job, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid (because I cannot afford it.) Junkyard black bumpers and trim in solid condition are easy. Not bad...

    Picture request, dual tone cars?

I did, none can. There's a national paint supply place a ways from here that I'm going to try next. That said, it won't matter, because I won't be able to swing the cost. I've looked into painting before, it's never cheap. Already done. It was the first purchase I made, lol. Already done...
