Paxton Novi 2000, dead bearings? video in here....

Just wondering if you fixed this issue. Sounds a lot like an idler pulley, but you should be able to diagnose this by putting a long screwdriver on the bolt of the idler pulley and sticking the other end to your ear. This should transmit the noise so you can hear it from where it's...

    96 Cobra Issues

Hey you don't need to replace the gaskets, all the ones you will pull off are reusable! Don't got spending money when it will make no difference anyways, unless of course they are torn, but that's highly unlikely. I can pull mine off and take pictures of all the steps if you'd like, my Cobra...

    96 Cobra Issues

In english, well I didn't know I was speaking another language! Basically that is the "drive cycle" that Ford uses, it's just looking for daily driving, and they figured all that would justify it. This just expedites the process for troubleshooting and testing purposes where driving it for a...

    96 Cobra Issues

The check engine light won't come back on until a complete "drive cycle" has been done. Quoted from, http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/drivecycle.htm Whenever work has been done on the Engine or Sensors the EEC will take time to relearn it's optimum values. This process can be speeded up by...

    96 Cobra Issues

Oh sure, that's not a problem. The IMRC's sit underneath the lower intake manifold and on top of the cylinder heads. You're going to need to pull the strut tower brace (if equipped), intake elbow, upper intake manifold, coolant crossover tube (drain a little coolant before you do this, makes...

    96 Cobra Issues

Yes, you're going to have to take it apart and clean them if you're technically saavy, if not, try the seafoam trick, some guys have reported good results with that. Me personally, I'd rather take it apart and clean it manually, then I KNOW it's clean. I'm pretty sure the codes are all...

    96, bad compressionleak down test

It still recalibrates for a LEAN mixture when you have pure gasoline in the exhaust stream because the O2 sensors can't read pure fuel, flooring it acts as a choke for the PCM and does shut off fuel injectors. It's more so you don't flood the car while starting, but it's also a troubleshooting...

    Livewires plug gap claim?

Did you twist the plug while pushing down, they should all snap in, unless the connector is actually bent apart.

    96, bad compressionleak down test

Floor the gas pedal while cranking the engine until it fires up, this shuts off the fuel injectors.. Happens when you let em sit for a while..

    Blew my steering rack!

Yeh I was thinking about a tubular K-member, I actually had one but I sold it along with the extra parts I had... It was a D&D but I think something was cracked on it... I heard they're a real pain to get your alignment right after install? True? There was somebody selling an AJE here on the...

    Blew my steering rack!

Oh, by the way, I took the entire subframe out of the car today, just felt it would be easier to do the motor mounts this way, and then while I was at it, I decided to just go with longtubes, so the exhaust is off, just waiting for my LT's to come in, take a gander!

    Blew my steering rack!

Yeh, I got the bumpsteer kit already, and I can re-shim it to where I don't need the rack mount bushings, I think I'll reuse them anyways though, I got brand new polyurethane Energy Suspension motor mounts so that'll raise the motor a bit and they'll last a hell of a lot longer..

    Blew my steering rack!

AHah, yeh well I guess that full left turn (when the pressure goes all to the right of the rack), is the straw that broke the camels back ya know? Definitely a good thing it didn't wear through the pan, actually I took a good look at it just to make sure, but it's a steel pan and the rack is...

Adjust TPS to fix throttle hang?

Is this really necessary though? I drive a 96 Cobra and my idle doesn't hang at all, maybe running too rich?

    Oil Cooler, use tranny cooler?

Oil coolers are usually cooled by engine coolant, I think an air/air cooler wouldn't be as effective, plus would it be able to withstand the oil volume/pressure? You wouldn't want to restrict the volume at all, this could possibly starve the engine of oil.....
