Rev Limiter? I thought you were jokin'!!!

if your air filter is plugged, or your exhust is really plugged they could be a cause, but i've never heard of a motor that would be that held down. I'd run a compression check. She might be dieing

    hey bhuff or anyone else

look in a racer walsh, jegs, or summit catolog. They will all have exactly what you need. All of their support departments are very helpful. Is the car the motor is going into, N/A or turbo? If its a turbo car, Personally,i would tear down the turbo block and have it checked out. For the cost of...

    c4 in a carbd 2.3

Pinto's and mustang II is where you'll find one. I dont' know that you'd loose as much power with it as in an a4ld, but theres no over drive with the c4. I wouldn't waste my time with a c3, they are a better paper weight then a tranny.

    Rear Control Arms.

if you have a welder, you can just "box" the stock arms depending on what kinda condition they are in. That and some new bushings is the cheapest way to go. If not that, then hit up ebay. You should be able to find a good set dirt cheap.

    Speed?

radar detector is a waste of money. They only work if the cop is rolling around with his radar on. Unless he got someone else, By the time it goes off its already to late. My father got pulled over doing 122mph in a 91 tempo he used to have. It was on the freeway, very slight down hill. He...

Is my block sleeved? Take a look...

blocks are generally sleeved after something ugly happens. Or if the motor is being rebuilt, and needs a bore job, but its been bored out already and you need more material to work with. As far as it being stroked, the crank will probobly be stamped with some kind of marking. Get an inside...

    Advice On Purchase

that shakeing you talked about, crawl under the car and see if the drive shaft wiggles around by hand.... If it dose, its time for new u-joints. Brakes are dirt cheap to replace if you can do it yourself.

    Performance

I kinda said that sarcasticly. The actuall fabrication is simple, but the entire conversion is rather complicated. The worst part is trying to tune the thing. You have to go to a stand alone fuel management system.... and those are pricey. You also have to build custom intake and exhust...

    Throttle response?

A good tune up will do wonders. A new air box set up (CAI), Oil change, K&N air filter, Plugs and wires, a new straight threw muffler (cherry bombs are only $13, but i dunno what it would sound like on a 4cyl) All that costs a little money. For free, dial in the timing, and, If you have the...

took head off my 2.3t, No crosshatch shold i hone or do .030 over??

I said stock head. stock meaning nothing done to it. no porting. you can make alot of hp with a stock head and a turbo, yes but not N/A. correct me if im wrong. When you run a high compression ratio, it beats the hell out of the motor. It also makes in nearly non drivable on the street. The...

If you do a Turbo Coupe motor swap, The only thing you NEED to do is change some wires around in the harness and swap computers. Check stingers web page. The TC motors already have forged pistons. With some really simple porting, and a simple rebuild you can make 300hp to the wheels for the next...

Are you planing on Turbo Charging the N/A motor? or swaping in an actuall Turbo Motor? If you are planing on swaping in the turbo motor, please refer to the other thread where everyone is telling T3AL how bad an idea spending money on an N/A 2.3L. If you plan on Turbo Charging the N/A motor...

took head off my 2.3t, No crosshatch shold i hone or do .030 over??

    1) you'll wont make 200hp to the flywheel with the stock head. plain and simple. you will need 13:1 Cr a whole lot of CNC porting and race gas to come close. Then you will be crying because you sent a con-rod through the side of your $6000 motor. 2) whoever told you that you dont need high hp...

took head off my 2.3t, No crosshatch shold i hone or do .030 over??

Ps: dose the block need to be clearance with the stroker crank? thats another $250 or more I would invest in an ARP bolt set. The old bolts strech and weaken, if you wanna run 9000 rpm you can't skip anything. also I would get some high quality gaskets. Lastly, what do you plan on using...

took head off my 2.3t, No crosshatch shold i hone or do .030 over??

Your going to need to get everything balanced and blue printed when its put together..Your gonna need to turn alot of rpms and things wont last long at 9000rpm if its not built right...The car most likely wont be driveable below say 3500 rpm. Its too heavy of a car, with too little HP and too...

I hit the gas, but no acceleration.. whats up?

is it an auto? if so the slush box will definatly be one of the problems. Aside from that, if its a serious dead spot, not just your motor not being able to get outta its own way, It could be any number of things. Fuel delivery, timing, I even saw a car once, with a bare wire that would brush...
