    It's done to reduce et's, no other reason. Lack of granny shifting gets you to the traps faster than the guy next door. It's hard on the car no question. Poor timing can net grinding gears, missing a shift and or hurting syncros.

    Typically tuners will bring the low and high speed fan turn on setting down a bit automatically. I have my low speed come on at 165 and my high speed come on at 185. I imagine with the temps your seeing your fan is running nearly non stop on high speed.
