Car's Done!! New Pics!!! New Problems :(

Redline, one more ? Do you have an intake spacer on the car to clear the VCs. If so what size do you have? I'm ready to purchase them as they are the only black ones Ford has that will clear the stud mounted rockers. Just wanted to make absolutely sure because the place I get some of my...

    Crazy Fuel Pressure

Steve did you figure out the problem?
  4. Methodical

Is this a sign of a bad fuel pressure regulator?

While idling, the fuel pressure, at times, is between 32-36 psi (idling) and sometimes jumps to 50 or higher psi while idling or goes to 30 psi or below. And sometimes while driving it doesn't go above, say, 30 psi but sometimes goes to 60 psi. Idle test done with both my electric autometer...

    A/C Trouble

See how the guy is jumpering the switch. Do that and if your system kicks on replace the switch. Fortunately its the only device in the system that you can replace without having to open the AC system. Just twist it off and twist the new one on.

    A/C Trouble

If the ac clutch is not switching on it won't take freon unless you vacuum the system and put liquid in the high side of the system (i.e. vacuum sucks it in). Sounds like your AC cycling switch is gone. Get that and you'd probably be golden. You can remove the switch and put jumper wire...

Car's Done!! New Pics!!! New Problems :(

Were the Cobra VCs (assuming they were the non-stock ones) the same height as the ones you have on there now? Also, were your 1.7s stud or pedestal mounts at the time? Just trying to get some info because no one I talk to can give me any definitive answer. Even when I call FRP tech line they...

    Oil separator review...

Blast from the past. It's been about 3 years since most of you guys installed your oil separators. And after reading this post most had a concern regarding the use of synthetic oil and the CH oil separator. Its been 3 years now so what is the verdict on using synthetic oil the CH oil...

    My Oil Separator/Filter

Hey Dustbuster, how is the Husky separator working out for you? And did you have to plug the drain thingee as suggested in this post? I need to know because I am about to do this. Thanks

Car's Done!! New Pics!!! New Problems :(

Hey Redline notice you have a breather on VCs do you have the PCV plugged? I'm looking to put an oil separator between the PCV and intake so just curious. I also dig thos VCs. I plan to get the Cobra ones but wasn't sure if they'd clear the RR studs. Those VCs are for a carb car right...

new engine has some new problems

Not sure if this will help. But once when my car ran bad after I rebuilt it, the #8 rocker bolt (intake) came loose (push rod just smacking the valve cover) and the valve was not opening and made the engine run rough. Readjusted everything and it's been good since. Also, did you put the...

    A/C Trouble

Check out my post on a/c recharging below. Also, go to the dealer and get the low and high side port valves. They are cheap anyway. I have the Ford part numbers in the post. Oh, just use some channel locks or vice grips to remove the valves - you don't need any fancy tools and get the o ring...

    New engine or rebuild?

Plus the current block is well seasoned. Do a rebuild (306-347) - that's my opinion anyway. Plus if you want more power you can always supercharge or use nitrous. Going radical can cost big bucks and big headaches (see some of the folks building 400+ cube engines and the problems and $...

MSD 6AL-2 mounting: Is it ok to mount the box in the trunk?

I spoke with MSD tech and was told that it can be mounted upside down or anyway for that matter as long no liquid can get inside. And to keep the coil wires away from any item that may be affected by the high outputs (i.e. speaker wires etc.) and although the instructions says that you can...
