Hey Frankie, get your checkbook out!

I always wanted to build a GT, but with a Capri body. I thought it would look cool with a GT hatch, bumper covers, ground effects, quarter glass and a cowl hood. The only thing that would be evident from the Capri would be the flared fenders. Speaking of Funky...has anyone seen this...

    Car cover for fox?

I have a Motorsport one on mine with a 2.5" cowl. It is pretty old and has held up quite well. It is really contoured to fit the car...even the mirrors. You have to take off the antenna though.

    Fuel system issues...

You will most likely have to drop the tank. I think I may know the problem. The fuel pump may be bad, but I suspect the rubber hose that connects the fuel pump to the metal line leaving the tank. I have seen them develope a hole. When the pump tries to pressurize the lines it sprays out the side...

    Trying to decide...

How about some good tires? Nitto Extremes? ET Streets? Solve the hook before you make it worse with gears.

    Steering rack bushings

Yes.....BALL JOINTS. I have changed a bunch of these to fix a squeaking front end. You can pierce the ball joint dust boot with a small awl. Then spray a little WD40 in the with the can straw through the hole. This will temporarily stop the sqeak.

    Help

The off road X pipe will help if you are running a stock cat pipe. I don't think the long tubes will help. They would be better suited for a better flowing head / larger cam combo. Some equal length shorties would be better with a stock head 302.

    reverse is gone on t-5

Reverse and 5th are on the same "fork." Fifth has an actual fork & syncro. Reverse is a small idler gear that slides in between the counter and main shafts. The mechanism that connects reverse to the shifter has several moving parts and is more complicated than any other gear. Since you say 5th...

    Imports rule?

The "Scene" here in San Antonio has really changed. Back in the early to mid 90's you couldn't swing a stick without hitting a 5.0. Friday night cruising on Naco was common with many many cars turning out. It was fun for quite a while, but the ususal one moron in the crowd would screw things up...

Motor plat on 460 fox body

Hey Deric, is this going to be a track only car? If you are going to run it on the street you might reconsider the plate. It will transfer all the noise / vibrations directly to the interior. I have seen a plate type with mounts where it rests on the front rails. This would be better for the street.

    86 5.0 to 94 5.0

YUP, it will bolt up just fine. You will use all of the brackets & accessories, intake and dist from your old motor.

    SBC in fox

A double sump pan would not be needed for a Chevy motor. The double sump is needed for the 5.0 because the oil pump is mounted in the front of the motor. The front sump is for pump clearance. On a sbc the pump is in the back so only one sump is required.
