    Better motion ratio?

Amazing how a number can seem to get “reasonable” after other manufacturers shoot past it, huh? I’ve thought about the TCP setup quite a few times. I have their rack and it is nicely made. But at my amateur driving level, they are not going to get me around smooth tracks any faster, and I just...

    Better motion ratio?

It's a good question. The answer might be buried in corner-carvers.com somewhere. I think you want the most direct load transfer possible, ideally from the contact patch straight to the shock tower cap. This would isolate the load into the spring and shock. Once you move that path in onto the...

    Best Intake and Carb

GMachine, there is also the Ford Racing Parts stuff if you like factory-badged parts, if you are not worried about any class rules like Deane began discussing. I'm running the following intake: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=1253

    MSD Distributor Install Problems

Likely the oil shaft as others posted, but before you try again just verify that the distributor gear has the same O.D. as the old one. Since you got it from "some guy", it could be from a 351C or 385 BB series, in which case the housing is the same but the gear is different. Just one more thing...

Edelbrock or AFR Cylinder Heads on my 393 Stroker?

I went with AFR 185s for my 408W and am very happy with them (530HP, 515TQ, and 117MPH in the 1/4), but after some discussion with my machinist, I did toss the 3/8" studs and valve springs they came with, and upgraded to 7/16ths ARP studs and springs from my cam manufacturer. He said none of the...

    BRAKE HELP

Boosters are notorious for rebuilds not working correctly. "New" doesn't mean "good". Check that it holds vaccum with a mityvac, and/or take an engine vacuum reading to see if drops when a friend pushes in the pedal but does not let off. But backing up, it sounds like you jumped the gun on the...

    MC help

69g- check you PMs. You can fit the later aluminum body/plastic reservoir ones between the stock booster and shock tower. They are about 7-1/2" long. I've done it.

    Carb tuning help

The Holley site recommends the following for power valve sizing: "The power enrichment system supplies additional fuel to the main system during heavy load or full power situations. Holley carburetors utilize a vacuum operated power enrichment system and a selection of power valves is...

Best Holley carb for 347 stroker combo?

Dave, good discussion, you can debate a post without me thinking you are a "dick". Let me correct the record for clarity's sake and state that the double pumper 750 is a 4779, (in the 4150 family) and the vacuum secondary 750 is a 3310 (in the 4160 family). My use of 4150 to mean DP is not...

Best Holley carb for 347 stroker combo?

There is a little more differences between the 4150 and 3310 than some people understand. The DPs have different boosters, usually have 4 corner idle, progressive secondary throttle linkage, and of course, another accel pump assembly. They have much snappier throttle response due to a stronger...

    Wheel Hop..grr.

You may want to verify pinion and drivetrain angles as well. The 8.8 will have required that someone weld on the leaf spring perches. If they had a bad day, I've heard angles way off that contribute to wheel hop.

Do I need to run 100% coolant if I start my car/drive once a week?

Agree with the 50/50 advice. I do use an sacrificial anode-equipped radiator cap, and it is slowly disappearing, which tells me something. With iron block, aluminum heads, and copper/brass based radiator, there is some ionization going on and I'd rather the cap anode dissolves instead of more...

Very soft pedal after frong disc brake swap

What the previous posters are warning you about is that the calipers are very tricky. You can have the bleeders "on top" and there is still an air pocket. Look very closely at your calipers once more and make sure the bleeder tapping is at the highest point. I forget now, but I believe you want...
