I thought SVO M/C was aluminum?

Yeah. You have it right. By the way. I got my last reman "SVO" master at a parts store (Murrys I think) and paid 16 bucks for it.

    where can I buy...

About a 70 pound differance. I just think that the 8.8 is not needed for most applications, but is swapped because its "cool". If it makes money sense, then ya go for it. Such as swapping in a disc rear from a Turbo Coupe. But if you are happy with your gears and you already have a...

    where can I buy...

Gibbo..... any interest in a 7.5 with 3.45 gears? Brand new fron Ford. Never bolted in. Yes the 8.8 is stronger, but thats not an issue unless you are doing 6 grand clutch dumps on slicks. For a street driven auto, your better off with the lighter 7.5 anyway in my opionion.

notchback vs 911 vs nsx vs corvette

Guess its the "assuming" of it being a cheaper car. Like calling a Mustang an escort. Your assuming that everyone with too much money makes smart choices.

Should I buy this mustang to fix ?

If you have to ask, then its hard. Torque boxes are not for the amature. Find out the scoop on the car. If its a black interior GT, you can probley buy it and make a good trade for a decnt older LX or sell if off as a parts car and make some money. Just helps get you what you want sooner.

    T-Bird Independent Rear

Agreed. Some people have made it work, but for the labor and metal work involved, your MUCH better off going with one of the Cobra IRS's.

    Fuel line Tool

Yup, called "Banjo clamps". Dont make the mistake of getting the metal scissor type tool. Costs more and its hard to get it in tight area's and they break too easy. Just get the cheappy blue and red plastic circle shapped ones. Also, trick to getting them......... shoot a little WD40 in...

    HELP!!!!!Car Trouble

Gonna need a little more info then just that. Cheap thing to check out would be the rear gears. I had a gear eat a tooth and it did a pop like that. Besides, its more then likely time to change your gear lube anyway!

notchback vs 911 vs nsx vs corvette

Agreed. I never liked NSX's at all, till my nephew bought one. I still dont like, them , but I respect them alot more. They look like crap on paper, but in reality , they pretty much do it all very well. Hows this to add to your goals. Make it perform as well, THEN...

    Pickapart...a mans toy store

Ummmmmmmm,,,, so you walked away from the 88 GT to hit up the TC? Being that you live in California, that 88 GT should have had an A9P computer. Same as the Motorsport one. Only used stock in the Cali Mass air car of 88. You could have gotten that and bought 3 LA3's. :flag:

Can any one identify this transmission?

CFI. Pretty normal stuff actually. GM even used it until the 90's on their trucks (some of them) Some people like to call it Carbed fuel injection. ITs actually Central Fuel injection. It was used from 83 on some of the 2.3N/A's (option and I think standard in Canada?) , 3.8's, As...

Buying an 86 t-top coupe any good or bad about an 86 2.3

Cool find! If it is already CFI , you can have a VERY easy 2.3 trubo project on your hands. Before you dismiss that, you should look into what these motors can do. AND YES! Its worth 500!

Can any one identify this transmission?

I sat tomato you say tomato.............. you know, matoe and mahto , jeez , I guess that ones does not fly on the internet. Anyway, my point is...... One guy say fuel inection. One guy says EFI. See where I am going with this. Fuel injection started in 83. EFI started in 87...

87 xrt. wireharness auto. good or bad

Nope. No problems. The nuetral safety start switch is in the ignition harness and not the computer/engine harness. The computer does have an input for it, but thats only for error codes.

    4 cyl T5 Trans

As far as the 4 clyinder T 5 being so much weaker then the V8 one, I wont tell any of the guys running 10's 11's or 12's on one, so its our little secret. Ryan, do you know if you car has gears? Could it possibly have been a converted auto with the 3.27's in the rear? Reason i ask , is...
