    Motor swap

The trans will bolt right up, but the exhaust will not. The intake situation is difficult, since nobody sells an intake for the 5.4 that will clear the factory hood now that HPS is out of business. Couple those facts with the fact that the 5.4L is heavier than the 4.6, and you can see why it's...

    Got my powdercoated calipers back..

+1 I have a number of parts that I'd like to ship out to get powder coated.

P&P NPI Heads or Swap to PI Heads

If you're using a factory-thickness head gasket, you should be okay, but I'd call him to be sure. I have to fully degree my cams despite the degreeing service because I'm using a thicker head gasket.

373 gears for a turbo car?

I think they'll work well for you, since you'll be able to spin 7k rpm and they'll help you get off the line when you aren't making boost. I'm planning on keeping my 3.73s, and I'll probably be making 100 rwhp more than you.

Are these 4.6l V8s good engines?

    My automatic 2001 GT ran a 13.6 at 103 mph with just a K&N drop-in, weld-in flows, and a mail-order tune on all-season 245/45R17 rubber.

Progress Thread Flghtmstr1's 700 Rwhp Build

Update: Today, I finally had a chance to pull the old engine. I disconnected a zillion wires, removed the power steering pump and A/C compressor (didn't have to disconnect any lines, just moved everything out of the way), attached the engine hoist, and unbolted the engine mounts from the k...

    Launch RPM

When I had the factory converter, I could only stall it up to about 1500 rpm on the line. I cut a 1.8s 60' time like that with the blower.

P&P NPI Heads or Swap to PI Heads

You should just give Nick a call. He's very helpful, and trustworthy to a fault (he refunded $10 to me that I wouldn't have even missed).

Questions regarding AODE B&M Hammer Shifter Installation

Well, I haven't actually done it yet (trans is getting a complete rebuild to take the 600+ ft/lbs of torque I'll be throwing at it), but it's just drilling a few holes and removing a spring. The hardest part will be dropping the pan and removing the valve body. As for instructions, I'd go with...

    LCA Talk

Yes, I do. I was running low 12s before on street tires (1.8s 60' time), and I should be in the low 10s / high 9s after my build. I will admit that I'll be pushing those control arms far beyond their rated limits, so I'll report back if I break them :) As for your second question, yes, I did...

Oh looky what I bought :D

The computer can be reprogrammed for a return-style fuel system. If you are using SCT, the Pro Racer software has a setting for it. I will not be keeping the stock fuel pressure sensor on the rail; it is unnecessary and redundant, as the computer won't look for it when tuned for a return-style...

Oh looky what I bought :D

I'd go return-style if I were you. In fact, that's what I chose to do for my own build, which has similar goals (low 10 / high 9 second street car). A return-style fuel system is much more tunable (you can set your own fuel pressure), is easier to upgrade, and will respond to dynamic fuel load...

Questions regarding AODE B&M Hammer Shifter Installation

The shift kit has no direct effect on the action of the Hammer shifter, but it would probably improve the quality of the shifts during manual operation. I would recommend doing at least a J-mod, and if you want a higher-stall converter, now would be the time. As for installation instructions...

    Accufab 75mm throttlebody/plenum

I ran a 75mm Accufab TB and plenum when my car was naturally aspirated, and I felt a nice seat-of-the-pants gain from it, especially improved throttle response. I'd keep it if I were you.

Mustang missing after trying to start without transponder key

I read "Mustang missing" and "transponder key" and took that to mean someone jacked your ride lol.

    Changed my oil today...

The "oil gauge" you refer to in your post is a oil pressure gauge, not oil level indicator, and it is pretty much worthless in our cars as it doesn't actually measure oil pressure. As for the dipstick reading, are you sure you were reading the oil level correctly? I can't imagine how the...

    hid lights

Listen to Trinity GT. He knows what he's talking about. HID headlamps should not be thought of as a "fashion statement", and in fact, higher color temperature bulbs do a relatively poorer job of lighting the road. The higher the color temperature of the bulb, the less light will be emitted...

    Fuel lines?

Your fuel pump could be going bad, or the inertia switch in the trunk that controls the fuel pump might be faulty.

I have the MM HD control arms, and I've never heard them make a peep or had any other problem with them. They really helped my car stay controllable during launches, especially when wheelspin is present.

(MPG Related) Thinking of a Gt Vert as a Daily Driver.......

I used to average 26 mpg highway with 3.73s. I even got 31 mpg once by setting the cruise control to 55. These cars are efficient if driven frugally.
