    What the F#$K

Your clutch wasn't grabbing hard enough before, well now it looks like it doesn't want to let go. I'd say you clutch is still not adjusted right. A slave cylinder is on a hydralic clutch system, but your is a mechanical (cable) clutch. If the car is turned off, and it is still hard to get into...

    fuel pressure question

Sounds like the fuel pump is allowing the pressure to drop. The pump normally holds pressure in the line after it is turned off. As pumps wear out they hold less pressure back. You might have an old pump. This won't effect the pump while it is running, it just makes for more difficult starts, as...

    Strange tranny/drivetrain prob!

With the car on jackstands, turn the rear tires with the clutch pushed in. You will almost definitely need a friend. Unless you can use a brick or wedge the clutch down. Anyway, when turning the tires, see if the tranny makes noise, or if you feel wierd varying resistance to turning the...

    Harmonic Balancer

You will need the 50oz imbalance one. Most people will steer you towards the SFI balancer, because it is approved for racing. If you can spend the extra money for that kind, it will be the best. Do a search to see what everyone is running. Also, I have heard good things about the non-SFI...

guess my problem and win a lap dance

Are you just letting the clutch out really fast? You may just be pulling the motor down too far causing it to try and save it's self. Which is were the sputtering and dying. There are different gear ratios between first gear vs reverse gear. So you may not be able to duplicate the effect going...

    fuel lines

I've done it before. But I think you can get the insert fittings for an lines from Summit and just run a hose to two AN barb fittings on each end. A bit more expensive, but also much more perminant.

    Dual fuel pumps...

Is there any downside to running two fuel pumps in parallel? I plan on supercharging, but is this overkill? Do I only need to add a T-rex inline, or will the dual pump thing work better? I plan on running -6 AN lines for the pumps. Or can I still use -6 AN on the T-rex and be fine at 7psi of...

    new clutch slips

I'm not sure how to adjust it. My Ranger has a hydralic clutch. But from what I have read, there should be a threaded end and nut were the cable attaches to the clutch fork. There is an adjustment someplace, hopefully someone with a Mustang will read this and respond. But a new clutch should...

    new clutch slips

The rust should have worn off the first time the clutch slips. It should not continue to happen. Kind of like the rust on a pair of brake rotors that has sat for a few days. Are you sure it is adjusted properly? You say it tries to catch. Does it slip under throttle after you let the pedal...

    96 Ranger Splash

It's too bad you don't want to do a motor swap. A 5.0 will drop right in. That's what I did. But I had a 3.0 to start with. That will be good for mid 14's or less in the 1/4. And tons of fun. But, to each his own. I would look into porting if at all possible. And raise the compression by...

    Vortech air meters?

Looks like I'll be getting one. But today I just saw that Jegs has Vortech meters for onlt $109. So I may go thru them.

    Help me find quieter exhaust

Hooker MaxFlows are quiet during regular driving. I like them, but under WOT they are very loud. I'd say, if you could put one of these on, and another small muffler, before or after it, you would have a nice quiet ride. They are not too expensive from Summit. Just an idea.

Tachometer Sticking...?? Won't Rev past 4800RPMs

Wow, I didn't even pay attention. One thing... I don't drive a Mustang. I have a 5.0L Ranger, does that matter? Strange thing with my P/S is that I removed it from a 4000lb 4wd truck. But everyone tells me I'm a bit crazy anyways. I'll have to check out the local boards. Thanks

Tachometer Sticking...?? Won't Rev past 4800RPMs

This is a site from TMoss. It should have any info you need. I bookmarked it. http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/ I agree with your sig. P/S is for sissies! My truck lost it along time ago. Much better without. And I don't have to worry about other people wanting to drive it. :D

    heres a thinker

I don't remember the exact right way to do it. I think a search might help if you want to know the true procedure. What I did was, with the car running, unplug my IAC, then set my idle, with the set screw, just below where I wanted it. Around 750-850rpms. Then I set the tps value to about...

    heres a thinker

The idle adjustment screw is set to hold the throttle blade open so it will idle without the help of the IAC. I did this for a while when my IAC was on the fritz, before I replaced it. If there is no problem, then don't change a thing. Otherwise, you may want to reset your idle. BTW what is...

    Vortech air meters?

Sweet! Looks like this is my next mod. $125 is cheap for new in a box.

    Vortech air meters?

So is this a good price on a good meter? Or should I look for something else?

    Vortech air meters?

I'm thinking they are just C&L meters sold by Vortech. Summit has them for only $125. This seems to be the best deal I have found yet on air meters. Should I do this? I think it would be a welcome addition to my engine. Opinions? Thanks

    Harmonic balancer.

I don't remember how much it was. But it was under $100. I think I might go that way once I get one. I currently have other broken parts to deal with. Thanks!
