    Need help . Electrical issue

Note. I'm a big believer in Occam's Razor. Occam's Razor says that it's likely there is a common cause to all of the DTC codes. If this were my car the first thing I would look for is damage to the wiring harness. Not finding anything I would be thinking there's a problem in the car's 5 volt...

    Anti-theft mode

Just wondering. Did you look at the cost of the USB dongle? Less than $30. What did the service call by the locksmith cost? But what do you think the cost of taking the car to the dealer will be? Do you own (or know someone) with a Windows laptop? The ODB2 scanner has the ability to also...

    Need Help, electrical gremlins

IMO the key to your problem is the list of devices that stop working. The head lights are unusual as they are on an "always on" circuit. So what one thing does all of the above systems have in common? If this were my car I would be thinking "ground". Since the headlights are affected I...

    07 grand marquis 4.6 into 04gt ?s

The long blocks are the SAME. Therefore the motor gaskets are the same. But just for your own piece of mind try this. Look up the part on Rock Auto by make, model, and year. Compare the part numbers pulled up between the two model year combinations. Are they the same? But you may find that...

    Anti-theft mode

The "turn the key on for 10 minutes" is a GM thing. Turn the key on but do NOT crank. Does the theft light go out after a 3 second "prove out"? If not, STOP and find out why. If the theft light does go off after the 3 second "prove out", then your problem is not PATS related. ForScan ODB2...

    2004 Ford Mustang V6 3.9L OBD2 Codes P1000 and P0455 (x2)

One way to test the fuel tank pressure sensor is to long term graph the FTP PID value. Does it ever change? Another way is to use the bi-directional capability to close the CV vent solenoid and then opening the EVAP VMV while the engine is running. What should this do? This should subject...

Car will crank but no power to coil?

IF there's no key on +12 volts at the coil pack, the problem is not in the coil pack. It will NEVER start until there is a constant key on +12 volts at the coil pack. Explain the starter problem in more detail. Is there something wrong with the flywheel? Is this a manual or automatic...

99 Mustang Gt Instrument cluster and pcm

Just wondering. How do you know that the cluster and PCM are able to "talk" to each other? Have you CONFIRMED that the PCM is actually getting power? Powers and grounds at the PCM? You are aware that IF the PCM is not getting power this will appear to be a PATS issue. Does the cluster...

PATS Issue or something else (Bunch of HO2S Codes)

For the IAT at -18 C is an unreasonable value. Likely means there's a broken wire or you have used an incorrect MAF sensor without the built in IAT. Fuel rail pressure at 53 Kpa = 7.687 PSI. Does that seem real low to you? Regarding to O2 sensors voltage. ForScan has the ability to graph...

    2004 Ford Mustang V6 3.9L OBD2 Codes P1000 and P0455 (x2)

Who ever told you that as a trouble shooting method isn't doing you any favors. IMO you would be a TON smarter to TEST the fuel pressure sensor to find out if it's bad before going to the trouble of replacing it. Besides after you dropped the tank you would find out that replacing the fuel...

Even the all metal Typhoon Intake manifold will crack on you

The alternator should be supported by the lower mounting points of the alternator. The two bolts connect to the block webbing in the engine valley. Should be a very sturdy mount point. I just don't see it unless those lower mounting bolts are loose. My vote is to look at the forces placed...

    2004 Ford Mustang V6 3.9L OBD2 Codes P1000 and P0455 (x2)

First. Should we assume this a a 1999-2004 model year Mustang? Before you go crazy replacing parts there are two things to check. Check the EVAP vapor hose from the throttle body to the right hand fender well for leaks. Next check the gas tank filler neck for rust through.

    ECU questions

Very short answer. No. Why? For one the 1996-1998 model year uses coil pack ignition. Where as the 1999-2004 model year uses COP ignition.

    2004 transmission and speedometer problem

For the 1999-2004 model year the OSS sensor output goes directly to the PCM. The PCM then "tells" the cluster what speed to display. So how to trouble shoot this it's important to know what the PCM "thinks" the car's speed is. Is it high/low/correct? Consider that IF the PCM doesn't know...

low compression in bank 2, bank 1 is perfectly fine

Looks good from what I can see in the pic. Obviously without being able to see the crank, we can't double check the crank dot. However based upon what can be seen in the picture the motor would be in time left to right. If out of time the whole motor would be out of time. You don't have to...
