    There are two specific tools for doing drum brakes that will make life much easier; each one for installing the two different types of springs. You can make do without these tools, but I say just make the investment now and save yourself the time/headaches later.

    Disconnect your clutch cable, remove shifter from inside car, unbolt bellhousing from engine, drop transmission out. Clutch and pressure plate can stay bolted to the flywheel if you so choose, it won't hurt a thing.

    V8 swap, harness questions

    There is a certain year cutoff for different engine harnesses.. I can't remember what that year is, but at some point I believe the fuel pump relay was relocated to/from the engine compartment, thus warranting a different harness. Perhaps someone else here knows more about that?

    Where did you go to get your new spider gears and pin, and how much did they cost? I'm doing my 3.55 gear swap and need to replace those things, but reportedly the only place to get them is a ford dealer.

    year for adjustable cable?

    Well I have this stock cable, but with the cable attached to the quadrant inside the car I'm still probably 1" away from the clutch fork at the tranny end of the cable. What's the trick for hooking this thing up?

    Should I switch to dumps, currently have macs & tailpipes.

    This was my main problem when I had dumps on my car, plus the drone got annoying after a while. I'm gonna go against the majority here and vote for tailpipes. :nice:

    Knock on start up..........

    My advice to you.. check out D.S.S. at www.dssracing.com. They can put together a shortblock that'll withstand whatever you want to throw at it. I got my kit from them and am pretty pleased, except now my tranny took a crap on me so I can't drive the car AGAIN. :P

    Dyno Pull For $60 For The First Hour? (WTF)

    I know at Anderson Ford it's $200 for the first hour of dyno/tune and $100 for each additional hour, otherwise it's just $100/hr for dyno use. Seems steep, but I'm sure it's probably worth it since you have all of Rick's knowledge at your disposal during that time if you opt for tuning.

    stock swaybar diameter

    Another quick way to test would be to tighten a crescent wrench around the swaybar and use a tape measure to measure that distance.. But that's assuming you have a large enough crescent wrench. :P

    I'm finally a Mustang owner!!!!

    The AOD's shifts are not computer-controlled, but by pressure instead. As far as I know it wasn't until the introduction of the AODE that the computer handled shift points.
