    Sounds to me like the lock up function on the tranny is fubared. If the torque converter is locking up off idle it will cause these symptoms. This is usually caused by a wiring defect, computer problem or bad lock up solenoid in the transmission.

    Chrome alternators are bad news all around, best saved for trailer queens. But what you can do is simply take the alt off and grind the chrome off the mounting tabs where the alt touches the brackets. Speaking of brackets, are they powdercoated?

    Snapped Clutch Cable!

    I've broken every single aftermarket cable I've ever bought. But have never broken a single stock cable! Most times I was using an aftermarket due to swapping an auto to a 5 speed and just didn't have a stocker to use.
