    1979 302 roller conversion

It is not an easy process......the block is different and it takes some major work to make it over. It is really not practical as you cannot do the convert yourself. You could make a roller a non roller but the other way.....Nope, trust me, find a roller block and go from there.

    Header Installation

You took the words out of my mouth.....I was going to suggest doing that to make it easier! I would not call that a horror story, that is easy. Good luck!

Electrical guys come here I need help!

I just totally rewired my 85 from the fuse panel forward. I tore ALL the wires out, and replaced them with big thick cable. My suggestion would be go under the dash and look for the light green wires they are the headlights, green with black is high beams, dark brown is the constant power for...

    Panhard without Torque Arm?

you would get more out of the panhard if you got the torque arm then you could get rid of your UCA's and drag shocks. But you must run the torque arm to do that. A good set of UCA's and LCA's would be better. Or good bottoms and panhard then torque arm later and ditch the stock uppers. I don't...

    Hooking up aftermarket temp gauge

Theres only a few screws that hold the cluster in the headlight wires are green the fogs are tan. Hook yor brown into the green to have your fog lights on all the time.K ind of cool I think. I ripped out ALL the wires coming from the drivers firewall, from there to the front. It is amazing all...

How do i smooth this fiberglass?

It can look great with spray paint just make sure you clean it real good and do not touch it with your bare hands after as the oil from your skin can screw it up. It is the preparation that makes it look good or bad.

    Beginner Mods...?

Get some subframes first.....underdrive pullies, a good shifter , 3.73 gears, electric fan, upgrade your alt, upper and lower control arms, the intake stuff......theres many more but there's a start.

    Problem with my stock gauges...

You are probably putting to much load on your alt and that is causing the problems, and you likely have some loose connections or ground issues. A new alt likely would help. Putting a better ground from your block to the firewall may help, but it all boils down to the alt. The stock alt is...

I have a Ripper too, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Some people do seem to knock them, but I cannot see why.

It's coming along, not too much longer... (new motor pics)

Should it not be this? "Better to BEG for forgiveness than ASK for permission." .....That is more appropriate.

Why does everyone on here think.....

Another thing to consider is options.....air, power options etc the more options, the more the car will weigh. My 85 has tilt and a sunroof, other than that no options. Got to like that. The wireing in the dash is said to weigh 30lbs.

I polished al of my aluminum.......waterpump, valve covers, power steering bracket, alt, alt bracket, fuel pump, air breather cover, ignition cover, bottom of dizzy, master cylinder, prop valve, even the aluminum bolts,so yes it can be done. Took hours and hours and hours and they look...

    repairing torque boxes

I agree with Rick it would likely suffice after the welding but why not swap to better arms and take the stress off the boxes.

    Battery relocation using Optima battery

You might want to relocate the ground to the shock mount in the back.....that is a popular place. It would be wise to ground your engine to the chassis in the front as well. Fuse the main power wire too, with a fuse higher than your alt but not too much.
