Hey Truimph now makes a 2.3 3cyl bike.....biggest factory made engine. Almost 150fp of torque.....off topic but came to mind when I read this.

MAC exhaust users- fitment question quick+easy.

They should work......if not go to a shop and have the bolted flanges cut and welded or cut and matched to flanges that work. To each his own, but those are pretty big....even 3" are big. A full inch is alot when it comes to tailpipes. Some people think 3" is too much......but it is your...

    What size Carb?

I imagine the edelbrock 600 would do a fine job, and they are good carbs as well. The differences between that and a 650cfm are going to be minor. Unless you are talking tenths in the 1/4 mile.....I doubt you would really feel the difference driving.

    Starter question

You can get mini starters that work from early 90's ford pickup trucks. I imagine V8's. That is all I know, I can not be more specific. But hope it helps.

    repairing torque boxes

Putting more welds around all the seems is one thing I read. Add extra to the factory welds. Torque arms wit spherical bushings would take the risks away. Good luck, that sucks to have happen.

Can anyone help w/ 4.30's and speedometer calibration

Anything over 4.10 gears you need a reducer type gear for the speedo. I read normal gears for speedos only went to 21 but maybe it is 23....if that is what Steeda said you needed, maybe that is why it is 23(higher than 21). I would ask about the reducer and see what kind of looks you get.

Advice on Painting Rear Axle Black

A wire wheel on a 4.5" or 5" grinder works amazing and fast. I did almost my whole car this way.....even the body. Wear glasses or even better a face shield and you will get dirty. Wire attachments for drills work well too, but not near as fast as the grinder method. If you attempt this wear...

what does it cost to get a set of heads installed??

You remove the rad and all other stuff that is in the way and there is a puller you use.....like a steering wheel puller. Shop labour is crazy but then you have someone to blame if it has problems. Learning to do all but the major stuff is a good idea.....then you spend all that saved money on...

    302 power

Well most HO's, with the exception of a few make 225ish flywheel hp from the factory and can be put up to 300 with normal bolt ons including good heads and a range of 300-375 is not uncommon. There are exceptions, but much higher than that and your getting into labour intensive engine work...

    Rear brake line mod again

Looks good to me and simplified it......makes it easy to understand, I like the braided lines but have trouble finding kits for the 85's. I would make my own but I figure the ends are not so simple to attach on the braided lines. Did you do this? or were the lines pre made? Is it easy to have...

    mustang/aerostar part interchange?

Sorry to say but the driveshaft will not work. The one you want is AWD for sure and 92 or 93 and 94 and 95 I think. The centre to centre of the U joints needs to be 45.5 inches.

    rearend????

I am A 5.0 guy, but need to know if, like there bigger badder brothers, did the 86 and ups get a 8.8 rearend? If not what is the gearing on those cars? (Automatics)I know the smaller cars gearing is better and am wondering if I should swap my stock to the 86LX and later when I find a 8.8 change...

Weekend plans on new 1990 GT 5.0. Advice needed.

Dont bother with the timing chain gasket if it does not leak unless you want to upgrade the chain itself...that is a lot of work ....blue rtv sealant for the gaskets and maybe thread stuff for the bolts.....a manual would help.......keep track of all the bolts.... torque them in proper sequence...

    What intake do I need?

Not to take the wind out of your sails but it is common knowledge that the stock cam on 85 and up 5.0's is a capable cam and is good up to a respectable amount of hp. I think that is buddies point.......ther are other things that could be done before the cam swap that would net you better...
