    Attention SBF engine guys

To me it sounds about right. Was the guy specific about why he didn't think the heads would work? The small chamber of the early heads will keep the compression up and the larger valves will help it breath better. One of the largest advantages of an aftermarket head (iron or aluminum) is...

full frame replacement for our unibody cars

Take a closer look at the Griggs setup. They have two types of sub-frames. The first is the typical version that connects the front/rear of the chassis. The second style actually requries you to cut your floorboards in the rear passenger area. This is the in-floor frame kit ($229). Griggs...

    Wider rear brakes????

Here is a pretty good article that uses backing plates from an 84 Lincoln town car to mout 2 1/2" rears. Everything else can be resused or purchased new. http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/RearBrakesbySamGriffith.html He did the entire job for ~$200. I believe you can also use large finned...

Jim, you're selling? Are you looking to start another project or are you getting out all together? If you have any parts laying around, let me know what you have and I'll make an offer. EFI or no?

Check out Mass Flo EFI as well. They have systems for all Ford small blocks. System uses a Ford Computer, Edelbrock Victor Intake with Fuel Bosses, and a LS1 1000cfm throttle body. It is one of the cleanest aftermarket systems out there and doesn't really use any propriatary components...

    Rear gear question.

Yes, you can but you can't use stock 289 or 302 pistons. The pistons require a modified pin height to compensate for the slightly longer rods. Boss 302s used the longer 289 rods with larger rod bolts and a forged 302 crank. This is the same geometry I'm using in my 5.0 roller block.

    need help with heads?

Look for a pair of used Windsor Jr's. I picked up a pair last year with 100 mi. on them for $600. I've seen them go for as little as $450 on eBay.

    '66 Front Grill Material?

'66 Front Grille Material? Are the '66 grilles made from aluminum or other material? The reason I am asking is I want to weld in some trim pieces for a set of driving lights and possibly a bracket for a floating running horse. This is the basic idea:

    Engine build-up suggestions

Another suggestion to keep it on the cheap is to search the message boards. The Corral has one of the most active Windsor engine classifieds I've seen. http://www.corral.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=269 If you are in SoCal, use http://www.recycler.com/ for just about anything...

    Need help! please

That is way more work. Drain the transmission and unblolt the driveshaft from the rear differential. The driveshaft easily slips out of the transmission. Cover the tail of the tranny with a plastic bag and seal it with some rubber bands. Be sure to remove the shifter linkage. If you are...

I'm 99% sure the 79 crank is 28oz. So using this with your 28oz. fluidamper and a 28oz. flywheel will work.
