    With the fan that far back from the radiator and in addition not having a shroud, it is not very effective. From the picture, it looks like your engine is in a stock position. However, if it is set back, it could be the reason why you are have pitman interference problems with the Tri-Y headers.

    allcarfan, The shiny TCC below is a standard 66 timing cover. It is for use with a water pump with a backing plate. The one on the right (for comparison) is from a '90 roller block.

    Help with increasing compression ratio.

    I ended up milling .015 off the heads and .015 off the deck height to get my compression corrected. This is with original 60cc chambers and flat tops with 4cc valve reliefs. Static compression is estimated at 9.7:1.

    I thought the Explorer RR had an offset pinion. So, you have to shorten only one side to get the width correct and center the drive axle.
