    Mexican block questions

    try over on nmraracing.com. The Mexican has thicker webbing around the mains but I don't know what the limit on the bore is. the max bore on a 302 safely is .040 over. If it is OK, there will not be anything left to bore if u ever have an issue.

    ur not going to split a Boss 302 block unless u have more than 1500fwhp. u can buy a brand new Canton 7 qt pan and pickup from coasthigh.com for $349. a girdle on a race block is worthless.

    Holley heads suck. Just get the TFS Track heat heads, TFS stage 2 cam and track heat intake. This will fit with stock 302 pistons but u may have to degree the cam to get it to clear P/V.

    302 parts make 302 power. eddy performers belong on a 302, not a 331/347 at least not in stock form. either have them stage 3 ported to flow 300cfm @ .600 lift or sell them and go AFR or TFS or vic Jr.

    run a girdle and windage tray. The main girdle will not increase the block strength but will hold the rotating assembly together if the block splits. A windage tray will provide you with more positive engine lubrication by reducing the interior windage at higher engine speeds and frees up hp.
