    Dupli color wheel paint the silver with metallic, and sprayed lots of clear, gotta buff them out because theres some overspray build up and the clear isnt as smooth as it could be.

    Come on man its called plane of rotation, oh nevermind thats a jet engine...... I agree and even if an impeller wheel decides to eat **** I doubt it will do through the housing, I have seen some turbo diesel engines that send pieces out the tailpipe but thats a bit different.

    I think primer is a good alternative to a crappy paint job especially if your in the process of doing body work and finishing it..... primer is not good for a long period of time though, it is highly absorbant, hence why it is used as a base layer. Just dont be one of those people that sprays...
