    I have lost to a few Mach's, but been trashed by every LS1 I've raced. Not mad about that, but I also know a stock LS1 would destroy either car.

    True. If you want to be faster, then you should have bought an old LS1 Trans Am or Z28. If you want a new car, almost as fast as a Trans Am, then buy the '05 GT. Mod, mod, mods !!!

    Stock Mach's run about 13.8ish, while the garden variety stock LS1 is 13.0 to 13.5

    Well consideirng the "old" LS1's are faster then the new '05 Stang GT, surely the GTO (LS2) is going to murder the GT.

    After 70mph, he really took off. I think it might take all of those mod's to hang with the LS1 at those higher speeds. I didn't realize how much faster the Trans Am's were compared to us in third gear.

    I was behind a car length till about 70mph. T Then his LS1 pulled hard (I fell behind about three car lenghts between 70mph and 100mph) and I gave up.

    Yesterdays, I just got the SLP loudmouth exhaust installed on my '05GT, but this is really the only mod (besides the free mods). The first time I raced my friends '99 Trans Am (stock with just Flowmaster, 115,000 miles) he destroyed me :( . I was about a car length behind till about 70mph...

    Help With Take-off

    Most factory LT1's run 13.8-14.0 which on the average is just a hair faster then a 99-04 GT. With some minor mod's, your GT should pull ahead. Forget about racing the LS1's (98-02).

    How much power?

    Not for nothing, but a '91 LX with the listed mod's has no chance against a stock LS1. Unless there's something wrong with that particular LS1.

    GT Factory HP

    Perhaps the LS1 didn;t have anough low end to compete with a 502ci. However, the LS1 has enough down low and mid range to outrun most anything today.

    The GTo looks like your typical Pontiac, plastic shudders. But, the LS1 and LS2 engine makes up for it as it blows past the '05 GT. Sucks!

    Yeah, I test drove an LS1 and it really didn't 'feel' that fast. There power is after 3rd gear where it hauls past us :(

    Simple Bolt on's will ut you next to a stock LT1 ('93-97). Forget about racing the LS1's (98-02).

    Take a look at this<

    If GM follows the same trned, the next Camaro or Trans Am will have more displacement and be quicker. Or they can still get an LS series V8 in the Vette.
