    Super Clean II on....

I do agree, it's a combination of both for sure. I can understand your thinking about repainted cars, if it's total originality you seek. Obviously, it's the best way to go to avoid any question about possible previous damage. But, at this point in time, the remaining original paint cars that...

    Super Clean II on....

Well, I see it didn't make the reserve. I can't help but to feel that it's in part due to the color, as the total number of different bidders was ony eight. The car certainly appears clean enough to possibly command more....and it would seem that a more popular color might have obtained that...

Jon, Glad you got a chance to talk to him about it...it's just too bad that he wasn't able to cite a source of his information. Not that I really doubt it, just that I hate to go soley on someone's word or conclusion about such things, regardless of who that might be. Thats' why I would hope...

Pictures of my MII (Mid Restoration)

Looking really nice! Should be outstanding when it's complete. :nice:

    Super Clean II on....

BlueThunder: I'm from the Syracuse area, about 3 1/2 hours from you. Markysinatra: I wouldn't take the bashing so seriously. We all agree its a nice car, even if the color is strange. I actually like the exterior to some extent, just not the interior. Black would have been a better...

    Super Clean II on....

Well, it's certainly different! The original owner must have really liked it....enough so to get the color keyed belts with it. This is a super clean II, that I would probably only drive at night because of the color.... but enter in car shows, because of its uniqueness!

It may, or it may not. I was just agreeing, that IF it were to be true in regard to the '78's, it MAY be for the '77's as well. Hopefully, Jon will be able to get an answer that is more clear and supported by documentation of some sort. Without it, I'm still willing to believe moreso at this...

    734/818 at the rear wheels

Well Sal, you probably know what I mean just the same....but, that's another topic alltogether for another day...lol. In any case, I suspect that you will be making an '05 that combines retro and also gives homage and respect to a Mustang Cobra II? Hopefully, the result will be one that...

Well Jon, without any factual evidence to prove your initial claim, some of us could only go by what seemed most logical from reasoning and the various sources available which were clearly leaning against it. I enjoyed trying to figure this out and assist, regardless of outcome. Since I felt...

My new model! Kristas sexy shots!

PepsiFreak, your car leads a charmed life, for sure. It's also a really nice lookin' coupe. BTW, what size tires have you got there?

Please put it to good use.....like flattening the egos of some of these new '05 GT owners! :nice:

Interesting.... The article in the June issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines which features a 1978 King Cobra, sheds another twist to this thread... which also supports a theory Cobraman had stated, from his previous experience with some GM cars. It states..."For those of you striving a factory...

Being cute might have its perks?

Your reply is "ohhsoobad"....but, quite possibly true. Then again, perhaps he just felt guilty at the thought of charging her for such a minor service. Megan, the gear oil may be $6 a pint..but, he probably didn't put a dollars worth in to top it off. One lesson in this experience...

Brian....I noticed this statement too from the onset (in my own manuals), stated it in my first post, and basically drew the same conclusion. But, because some here remain fairly certain to the contrary, I have attempted to ascertain an answer from them to prove otherwise, by first having them...

    REWARD if found

Thanks. ET was one of several manufacturers, I thought was a possibility. I've wondered it about this for many years, never having a pic that gave a good close up of them!

    REWARD if found

I'd never believe it if I wasn't actually seeing it. A great looking wheel that Ford should have made optional. Well Jon, now you'll have to convince the judges these actually existed too...and after making them prove your car had smog equiptment. :D Good luck! Thankfully, there are pics of...

Wart...I originally thought a soft plug too was a possibility...but, I'm pretty sure the hole is threaded. My reference material states the original tubes were attached with "banjo nuts". I really don't remember what I did or used, but right now I have two hex bolt heads on the rear of mine...

    Put on the rack

Yeah...if you can find a parts store that knows they made Mustangs between '74 and '78. :rlaugh:
